If you want to get caught up in the story then Extend is for you. You'll be getting the most value too because you never bought any of the past iterations lol.
MC2 said, August 09, 2012, 10:19:58 pmMgbenz said, August 09, 2012, 04:33:11 pmWould anyone even buy those Engrish voices other than for the lolz?Well in the original CS the default announcer was this really shrill sounding.....child of indeterminable gender. A lot of people didn't like it, so they were voiced to buy a new one. Evil genius marketing. The voices are free in the psp version. They're not any better than the CS voice. Maybe even worse.
Never heard much about the PSP version. Was it a decent port of a fighter to a handheld? I know its where Legion mode was brought from in CS1.
The stages are 2d and the character sprites have been lo-resed but at least still look good on the psp screen. It has the same content as the console version and some exclusive stuff.I believe the psp ver. of Extend was just released in Japan last month.
May 31st actually. The PSP port played the exact same as the arcade and console versions (like CS2) which was incredibly shocking considering PSP CT kinda' butchered the system. Only problem for me is how ass the sounds are.
SourceQuotehttp://www.inside-games.jp/article/img/2012/08/06/58739/281586.htmlBullet's profile:After a certain war, a young Bullet was wandering the place when a group of mercenaries took her in and raised her. After that, she followed the mercenaries to various battlefields.A candid person, her personality doesn't sweat the small details, but she's the type that will always keep a promise no matter what. Also, she's a pretty handsome person.Because she was raised in an all-male environment, she's a bit ignorant in the ways of the world, and other than battle knowledge she knows nothing.Perhaps it is because of that she thinks of everything in battlefield terms, and always has a dangerous side to her. SourceQuotehttp://www.inside-games.jp/article/img/2012/08/06/58739/281588.htmlAnd Azrael's:A solider belonging to sector seven.A pure-bred soldier possessing a superhuman strength that defies common sense, once the battle starts he'll attack friend and foe alike, unable to control himself he'll destroy everything. He looks a wee bit touchy, Azrael-san.Throwing himself into battle, the concept of victory or defeat does not exist for him, but rather, whether he lives or dies in battle.Really, this Azrael-san is such a hooligan.Constantly wandering the battlefields searching for a strong opponent to fight... having introduced him thus far, Azrael-san seems nothing more than a battle-obessed nimrod.Because he's obessed with using his own muscles to fight, he has never used a weapon before. Azrael-san is so hardcore. However, he's troubled by the fact that he cannot really go all out in battles because of his superhuman strength, so he's imposed a limiter on himself. Hmmm.. From the sounds of it, it looks like Azrael could (and I stress could) be another experiment of Kokonoe's.A superhuman soldier... Good god, it sounds Kokonoe has created her own Captain America.
Why is it that Noel is the only one with a makeover? Well, Tsubaki's doesn't count, at least Ragna and Jin should get costume changes.
SourceQuoteAmane:Hearing the rumors about a pretty young vigilante, Amane searches for him to add him to his troupe of traveling actors.Since this vigilante is Carl, they will have major roles in each other's story modes.Amane is the first revealed member of the troupe, so it can serve as a good source of new characters in the future.Bullet:A member of the mercenary troops that were once fighting for Sector Seven. In order to reveal the truth behind their sudden peril, she chases after a certain Sector Seven member named Kokonoe. Her story seems to be deeply involved with Sector Seven.Azrael:Once put into jail for committing a great crime, this uncontrollable soldier has now been released into Ikaruga after a particular order. He is a cruel maniac who enjoys fights to the death. He, too, is somehow connected to Sector Seven.
Looks like a great deal of Phantasma will deal with Sector Seven and I didn'tsee Amane's motivation coming a mile away, but the character archtype I thought he would be portraying was done nicely by Hazama, although I expected him to be the extreme of it.Can't wait to run through their storymodes though.
Now I gotta go play Battle Fantasia to decide.thats fine with me, I loved that game.
Real talk, BF's awesome. I just wish its netcode wasn't ass, but playing that shit at local meetups is the hypest.
BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Definitely Coming in 2012Plus, details about the home version's story mode from producer Toshimichi Mori.QuoteBlazBlue Chrono Phantasma has a Winter 2012 release date. That could technically mean February 2013, but in an interview with Famitsu, which was posted to Famitsu.com today, producer Toshimichi Mori assured players that the game will hit arcades some time in calendar 2012.The first location test was held for the game immediately following its announcement. Mori also told Famitsu that they'll be holding a second location test as soon as they've made adjustments. This could come as early as some time this month. If you can't make it out to an arcade to try the game out, you'll want to head out to Makuhari in late September for Tokyo Game Show. Arc is currently planning to show the arcade version at the September event. Attendees will be able to sample a near final version.Mori also discussed the game's story. Chrono Phantasma will continue the story from Extend, so he suggested that players go back and play through Extend leading up to release.Regarding the home version (currently confirmed just for PlayStation 3), Mori said that this is currently just in the planning stage. Rather than individual stories for each character, they're planning on having three main stories. In the end, the three stories will come together and show the true ending. You will be able to switch characters as you advance through the story.Mori assured that the volume will remain at the same level as past BlazBlue home conversions.Other home modes mentioned by Mori include a tutorial mode and something similar to the survival-like Abyss mode of past BlazBlue games. For tutorial mode, he said to expect more instructor voices.Did Extend add that much more to the story? or is that line just a go buy Extend plug.
Only scenarios for the DLC characters. I think there was a random additional story too but don't quote me on that.
One based around Sector Seven and another around the academy. Might of been another too. He might be saying that since it has all of story content of CS1, the DLC character stuff mentioned above and the "retelling" of Calamity Trigger, which was universally bad. Better off replaying the original for each characters CT true story ending.
