Hi everyone! A couple of months ago I released a stage for the first time in years. My home town - Calgary stage was not complete at the time so here is the final version with two variations. There are two separate downloads for a winter and summer version. each folder has a 1.0 version and an optimized 1.1 zoom version of the stage inside (I figured i'd get with the times and do the zoom as an option, the result, huge panoramic and beautiful, i'm excited to make a gargantuan comic stage with this capability). I have added a lot of detailed things to the summer version including an animated skyline reflection on the river (which I think looks great considering what we are working with when it comes to 2D 90's animation lol) as well as animated traffic in the background, a train and a whole bunch of little details. The winter version is the same stage but everything has been recolored/re-sprited (with several little details added)to create an atmospheric and chilly winter setting.




Now that I have gotten these out of the way, its time to get back to business (and business means comic book stages...yay!) I do however need some suggestions for what to embark upon. What comic book stages would you all like to see? let me know and when I see one that excites me, I'll get on it!

all in all, i'm back (for better or worse lol)

***Also I am converting all of my old stages (Krypton, fortress of solitude, kent farm, lantern warzone, daily planet, asteroid M, coast city etc) to 1.1 compatibility so stay tuned)****

We here at the guild enjoy more than just comic stages :)

I love how you added the snow to your stage and I do like how you made  the stage super jump as well . this stage is really cool :)

Definitely one of my more favored releases. The stage is so ALIVE and it has so much going on, it's absolutely fantastic. Great stuff JorEl. Hope to see more from you in the future! :)

Thanks Tay, that's exactly what I was hoping to achieve, a bustling "alive" feel but in a way that wasn't cluttered or overdone. I am so happy you like it!

I love it, they are simplistic, yet not dull. The little details added is a nice touch!

Anyways, just leaving a little feedback:

- startx position should be same as the starty, so does the p1startx and p2startx. In this case the more appropriate value for startx is 0, p1startx is -70 and p2startx is 70. However, this is optional, you can make them facing more close to each other by reducing the number (example: -50,50) and vice-versa by inducing the number (example: -100,100).

Its funny, I have been making stages for as long as mugen has been around and I actually never have properly set up player position on any of them lol. there is always more to learn ;) appreciate it!!

Hey thanks, This stage is fantastic! I love all the different layers of the display and the detail with the birds that fly by and the balloon in the distance, the city in the background with the little cars actually moving and the up close neighborhood houses, the bridge with the moving water. Even the sky looks great on the super jump. I could go on and on but literally this is a top contender for me as favorite stage of the year! Thank you so very much. Keep up the good work and its great to have you back!
