Can Mugen play .wav files for BGM?

I recall hearing somewhere that it's possible, but the last time I tried it it didn't work.

Is it possible to play .wav files as a BGM?
If it is, then how do I get it to work?

I am using Mugen 1.0

Just MP3, OGG files, if I recall correctly. But seriously, why do u want to use WAV for the BGM? That would be waste of space for music that would be necessarily compressed into a mp3 or ogg format for faster loading times.

But I suppose if using WAV for the bgm music is necessary, maybe. I haven't looked into it. I think I remember winmugen could do it, but I'm not sure about Mugen 1.0, since it uses a different format for music.

and smaller file sizes.


I'd estimate about literally 5 times smaller, for EQUAL quality.

I'd love to convert the file to .mp3 format...
But for some reason, Audiacy won't let me load the file.

It might not necessarily be the programs fault. You try opening it with anything else ?

Yeah, Audacity doesn't let you export it as an MP3; however, as you seem to have already figured out, you can export your music as a wav. If you don't have Windows Audio Converter installed on your pc, ignore bleow, or get it!
