This is how you recognize a character is polished or not : when small details are taken care of to provide the best experience possible.

I could use a new project. Send me some of those and maybe I'll put the same play style I used for my Sailors on them.

I'll PM you some of his stuff so you can take a look at it and see if you want to take a crack at coding them.

Looking forward to it. There may be some experimenting as I haven't done much outside my Sailors (Some of it I played it way too safe IMO), but hopefully it won't be worse than what AxKing did (Or what disastrous posts I made yesterday).

Oh yeah, since Ax is typically associated with Vzilla and the MMV forum, just a heads up that you might get shit from V at one point if you start some edits.  Ax himself is always going on about how all his stuff is opensource and that he doesn't even need credit, but Vzilla is a whole different story.

My Sailors weren't even really mine, yet their original author seemed fine with it, even more so when he retired out of copyright infringement fears.

So, a little bit of feedback from a quick run with him (didn't feel like going too in depth):

-New stance is static (literally zero movement) and his face looks misshaped to me
-Having his shield on his back is kind of boring
-He never loses his shield.  I always thought of that as a core Cap mechanic, to taking it away makes this Cap more generic and boring
-The never losing the shield starts to look really weird when he throws it and a new one appears  magically on his back, leaving two shields on screen at once:

-Matter of fact, new sprites throughout are really inconsistant,  His shield is constantly appearing and disappearing:

-Supposedly there's more moves, but there's no readme for what has been added so who knows
-As a matter of fact, several moves in the old readme (I'm assuming it's the readme of the creator who originally made this cap) don't work anymore.  So he has less moves then the Mystikblaze version he's based off of.
-There's what looks like a new move that involves rolling the shield on the ground, but its super inconsistent.  I was able to do it with QCF+LK and MK or QCB+LK and MK.  This button combination makes no sense to me for a non-hyper/super move.
-Hitboxes like this throughout the whole thing:

-or just no clsn at all (like on walk back):

-Shield slash is a painfully slow projectile attack
-overall play feels stiff and he can barely combo.

I barely scratched the surface of this thing.  I know I said someone should use these sprites for re-coding, but I spoke WAY too soon.  This is a horrible mess.

He doesn't lose his shield in MVC3.

Maybe so, but considering this is supposed to be MSH/MvC based (at least that's the feel I got from it), him not losing his shield feels off.  Honestly, even if it was intentional, the rest of it is horrible...

Wow, how many of his characters have so much missing, be so inconsistent, and just plain leave a lot to be desired?

This is gonna make things a little harder as I'm not a spriter. I'm barely a coder.

If the creator says it's open source it doesn't matter what anyone else says.

I have to agree with GLB on this....besides even if it were his (Volzilla) as long as he gave credit to him it shouldnt be any issue because once you put it on the internet, anyone is liable to edit it... Its all a part of the mugen community....

I'm fully aware of all that and agree with it all myself.  I was just pointing out that Vzilla has a history of speaking for others he deems as his "team members" even without their consent sometimes, and has a history of getting pretty nasty about editing and such.  I wasn't trying to dissuade Kaepora Gaebora from taking up the editing process, just more warning him of what could happen.  Worst case scenario stuff.

@Kaepora Gaebora: As for Ax's characters, not all of them are this bad sprite-wise.  This Cap and the recent Hulk are honestly the worst things I've seen from him.  I'd suggest his Joker as a edit project, that one seems to have the most materials in it.
