I have to wonder why you are keeping the "card theme" going. I can only wonder if a few years back if you wanted cards to be an actual thing in the gameplay. And while we haven't actually seen the character select screen, I wonder if they are in a sort of card form. Cause even calling the support characters "cards" seems a little silly. Is there perhaps some sort of card collection in the game that tells you how much of everything you have? Like a card album you flip through with unlocked chars and support chars (only assuming you do not start with everyone).
I also looked back at all the old videos. 1st trailer seems to be just the bones of an idea, with 4 characters made for MUGEN and that was all you had. Next trailer added a few more characters, then the actual "game" was added in later videos. Brings me to the point, it's been over 3 years since your last trailer, could it be time for another?
I can only speculate whats happened in 9 months...
1) Valkyrie has her little adjustments made
2) Etna is complete
3) Lion is complete (this guy has been around since the 2nd trailer! 4 and a half years of development!)
4) Ivy and Chun-Li Are near complete if not complete
5) Advancements in other characters
6) A few more character reveals
This is actually my LESS than hopeful speculation. If the roster is 20/36 revealed with only 10 essentially done (as of the last update) if only 4 characters were done after 9 months, that would make it 14/36 complete, which means we'd only have to wait..................... another 49-50 months if they updated right now, essentially another 4 years of just character creation. Which I would think that is just a tease, I was looking at the old trailers talking about possible demos but nothing ever came of those, eh? And I can only ASSUME that as the years pass on, you find yourself with less and less time to devote to this, so lets tack on a couple more months onto that and call it a cool 5 more years.
There is a TV tropes about this game, one of them says that Mai Shiranui was demoted to support card status. My google-fu isn't helping me, so I can't confirm if this is true or just rumor.
What if the game is abandoned? (We all hope this doesn't happen) Will you release what you have in hopes that others will take up your mantle?
Is there an older Card Sagas Wars post to find around here? Like I want to see if I can find the last update before the Valkyrie vs Lenneth one. I want to see what was done at that point and how much more they got done between then and the current update.
All in all, I am ecstatic about what you guys are bringing to the table. To an old gaming dinosaur like me, I can actually see this as the all mecca of fighting games, spanning across multiple genres and consoles. Unfortunately Sony has tried their hand with their new SSB style game... and to be honest it looks terrible. Could you guys show them how it's done?
