I know there is a thread about this but when I saw the answers I realized it was only for fighter factory stuff.

Yes, this thread is about chars I have downloaded not having proper colors (EG: Black venom is purple, green goblin is blue and yellow, the mario bros are mostly white) these are ALL downloaded chars, none were made by me in FF or MCM, they were downloaded, so that other answer will most likely not work.

You need the DOS2WIN and the charsffdtow its 2 things you use to fix it all you do is put them in the characters folder run the dos2win and it will automatically fix the discolorations and what not I found my dos2win and the character tools in a CARNAGE file that I downloaded...go to mugen comic characters find carnage download him and the tools to fix that should come with him as well

Take the doswin2 and the charsff tools open up the folder of the character thats has the weird colors to him/her and then run the doswin2 and it will correct the problem...Once you open the characters folder put the doswin2 and the charsff files in the folder run it after you run it a folder should come up that says "backup" then put it back into its own folder I copied and pasted it out of the carnage folder and made one called "converter" and whenever I use it, I use it on the character and then put it back into that "converter" folder

This is what I do:

1) I open the weird charecters folder.
2) I put the dos2win and CharSffDtoW in it.
3) I click the dos2win and then click "run".
4) A "backup" is created.
5) I put the dos2win and CharSffDtoW back into the folders I got them from.
6) I open mugen and try using the char and nothing happens, for example super mario still has a white shirt and instead of a blue one.

Now the only thing this does is fix his portrait that you see when your on the select screen it does not fix anything while your fighting and if its not a bad color like straight black or just really bright nothing will happen

  • Palette Maker :P
Is it not just the palette you're selecting at the select screen? Try using a different button. If this IS the problem, go into you're character's select.def and change the palette selection buttons to your liking, e.g one button for a blue palette, next button for a red palette and son on.
I need a sig =/

I am not entirely sure I am being properly understood, It is not their icons or their portraits, it is when I use them IN the game, they are NOT ones I have made, they are downloads like when I play as black spiderman in the game his suit is orange, not black. Green Goblin is red and grey, not green and purple, I just need to know how to get them back into the colors I was told they were going to be when I downloaded them, which they are not. (Again this does NOT affect ALL the chars). How do I fix this mess?

  • Three times thicker font than a normal user.
Yeah, it sounds like you're just using the wrong button to select their pal's. Try the button you have for command "A"(usually, the weak kick)

It's not a problem that involves Dos2Win, because I know there's only one GG out there, and he gave no Palette problems.

Imagine a zanguief runing to attack ryu, ryu does a quick+kind of weak fast punch and hit the chest of zanguief, will this punch be enough to zanguief say/think \"oh no, this punch hurted a little, I better stop the attack and put my hand on my chest to help contain the pain while ignoring if ryu is going to make other attacks now"
