So I was able to fix my recent problem with transparency but now I have a new problem, one of my characters can't display a character selection portrait properly, its all blurred and colorful and stuff. I tried changing the picture but the problem remains. How do I fix this?

The small portrait must use the same colours as your character but be added with shared palette off. Ie, uses the same palette as the character.

You can either split them off in the palette, or share colour for colour and have the small portrain in game change with the .act file.

Did you do EVERYTHING my post tells you to? If you just jammed in your stand sprite as is, no, it won't work.

Do it properly.

if the portrait doesnt have the same pallet as the other sprites and you apllied it as shared, un mark it, save it. and add it to the end of the sff file.
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

I was able to fix the small portrait but the large portrait has the same problem. What could I do in this situation?

Same problem, same solution ??

it'll be kind of awkward, using a sprite for the big portrait. Can you guys recommend a better option. I tried switching off shared sprites but it didn't do a thing.

A sprite is an image, any image. Use whatever image you want. Just make sure it has a palette and the background color is in the correct color slot of the palette, and use the "unshared palette" option. The big portrait can have any palette (as long as the background color is correctly set), it doesn't need to have the same palette as the character, but it works either way. So again, same problem, same solution.
