IDK if I posted here already or not but I voted Ken and Goku.  I like a lot of the characters on here, but as far as character of the year goes those bar none I would say have earned it.

If I could vote three, I would definitely vote Red too.  It pains me to not vote for Ingrid either since I love the shit out of her and CK happens to be my best friend, but keep in mind this is voting for a character to represent the entire year of 2011.  The character that wins this should be something definitive.  And while someone FINALLY nailing Omega Red is truly beautiful, I think Goku and Ken, as played out as they may be to some, should take the award.  Goku was the product of a dedicated coder and a dedicated spriter getting together to produce something that most of Mugen would have just laughed off (A DBZ character) if not for the dedication involved.  Ken....well, the fact that POTS Ken, an urban legend for years and butt of many now played out and obnoxious jokes, is now a reality speaks for itself.

I apologize for the rant.  Please continue whatever you were doing.

I'm voting for Omega Red due to the code and the countless headaches behind it that led to the final product.


Goku's cool and all, but that's just how I see it. Omega Red requires an amount of patience not many have.


And I am not looking to argue with anybody here. If you try, I will ignore it. I am just stating the reasons for my vote.

Goku for the spriting and coding, to make the best out of DBZ.
Omega Red for the HUGE amount of aspirines Cyanide must have taken.
Ken for the Urban Legend title finally coming to life.
And Snake because the sprites and gameplay are cool, and because it's fucking Solid Snake.

Not saying other chars didn't have any dedication put into them, but for CotY, yeah, these 3 (+1) are the real nominees.
