Oh but there is no fucking way there's not a baby coming. And boy oh boy the drama from that will be execrable.I'm really glad I saved Saga for last.Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltybut that last page D: D: D:
Jmorphman said, May 24, 2014, 08:02:51 amWhy the fuck am I still reading Invincible? That's an excellent question. I gave up on that book shortly after Eve told Mark she had an abortion and I finally realized I was reading a cross between Dragonball and Days of our Lives.
Well you're missing out on a lot of great, stunning writing.Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyCecil just got his head smashed in and then Eve (who is pregnant again) got her leg ripped off by Robot who is evil now because reasons. Pregnant lady (and very pregnant, at that) gets her leg very graphically ripped off sure is great comics.and in the previous issue Mark was raped by a female whatever the fuck the evil Kryptonians are calledand boy oh boy I'm not gonna get into the stuff with replacement Invincible's parents
Does a "Comic Books" thread match up for things that are like inspired by comics and such but have no actual connection to comic books?
Has anyone been reading IDW's Teenage mutant ninja turtles current series? Never was really big on comic books but I got sucked into this starting with issue #5 and now I have all of the main series comics as well as the micro-series pretty decent storyline they have going the only thing I'm not too fond of is how they recently handled the ratking's introduction but thats just a personal gripe
I was with it until they started the one shots and the micro-series, then I fell off. I really like the fresh take they had on the origin.
I also stopped reading early-on, mostly due to the fact that there's so many other, better comics to read. The last issue I can recall reading was the Bebop/Rocksteady one shot, which I found to be enjoyable.
Jmorphman said, August 09, 2014, 09:04:58 amUhh... like what?Like Mysterion and The Coon from South Park. They're clearly based on/parodies of comic book characters (dark brooding vigilantes like Batman in particular) but they have no other relevance to comic books or the like. No comic books or anything of them but they fit in with a comic book based world/theme/discussion/whatever.Would a comic books thread be an appropriate place for them?Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyThey're not why I ask the question but I thought of them and I really like them, so I decided to use them as an example.
^^lol jmorph what hell is going on in your sig? But yeah I love the story they have unfolding in the new turtles comics and I was surprised to be pulled in like this because the only other comics I own are the death of superman and marvel civil war, then again I love tmnt so not that much of a stretch. QUESTION - What is your favorite comic series and which issue do you feel would addict new comers to the series or atleast hook their curiosity?
Probably Nextwave, Sandman, Runaways or Y: The Last Man, or something. The first issues of each do a pretty good job at hooking a new reader, I would think.Thagr8test said, August 10, 2014, 02:21:05 pm^^lol jmorph what hell is going on in your sig? What, the Hawkguy one? Or the Greendale student body election headshots from Community?
^^both. I don't really care for the constant switching of artist for the idw tmnt comic's to be honest, Dan Duncan, Cory Smith, and Mat Santalouco are the best imo but all three artist draw certain characters in ways I wish they didn't for instance I don't like the way Duncan draws splinter he looks like a blind wolf more than a rat. Is this something that happens often in comics? I would have thought changing of artist would be solely for a new series or a reboot of a character not every couple of issues
