I tried what the thread OP instructed, but to be honest, his english isn't very good and I'm not 100% sure I followed his instructions well... I don't know, either that, or the plugins aren't the solutions...

The error message is simply along the lines of "Winmugen.exe has experienced an error and needs to shut down. We are sorry for the inconvenience.", and then it gives you the choice of sending an error report...

Nothing specific.

Personally, I've never been able to run WinMUGEN reliably with music and stopped trying. If I want music while playing, I run a music player alongside MUGEN.

Really? Is MUGEN really that unstable with music? :(

Yes the MUGEN's sound system is very unstable. That is the reason why there are so many plug-ins and even the plugins can't help you always get rid off all the glithes. I suggest you try a new screenpack or are you using any specific one already?

Well, I was using a Street Fighter 3 3rd strike screenpack, but I removed it since I figured it was causing all the crashing... it seems to have fixed the problem, but unfortunately, I'm back to the lame old MUGEN default screenpack :(

I had music issues with all those plug-ins when I upgraded my processor from single to dual-core.
The solution to that was 'in_mp3PRO.dll'.
Did you try that?

Get in_mp3PRO.dll; Google it.
