I wouldn't think it would be necessary. If the user wanted to let people know of the project they are working on then they would include a link to it in their signature (which many users already do) which in turn is in the summary. Plus, I would assume they would put a topic of the project they are working on in the Projects section which gets visited by a good handful of the members.

Otherwise, if you mean projects that they have not made a topic in the projects sections then I would assume it is not far in completion to make an actual topic or show work for, else they should just make a topic of their project and be done with it.

That's what I think. Others may have other opinions.
