Personally I'd like to see Volzilla, and GOH kiss, and make up, and put this to rest.

People blow things out of proportion all the time. Heads get hot, I wish we could just rack it up to testosterone, and call it a day.

That's right. Because users in MFG don't get banned for being mean. So no reason to make an MFG hate topic. :D

Not true, prehaps you didnt but several others did.

Anyway to me this is really a GOH / Volzilla issue.

CVG has dumped multiple threads that were negative toward Guild and posters so this isnt a CVG vs MFG at all.

Of course our rulse are differant, were all seperate forums with differant sets of rules.

I can say for sure we will always be stricter towards tone of posting. Were not the Guild, and never claimed to be.

Same goes for people that blow up because someone gave them constructive feedback.

Were a private forum we dont have to have the same rules. I dont buy into that community crap, and I dont believe the Guild does either for that matter.

Not that I condone or agree with what happened in regards to GOH, but it's not like CVG is going to change into a Smack Off tournament in regards to feedback either.

Theres things I dont care for about MFG so I dont come here and tell these guys how to run their show. Thats disrespectful to what theyve built.

I don't know about the guild, but I believe and community and many of the members here do. CVG does too, or they wouldn't keep asking others (including me) to help them with stuff.

You are right about different rules though, you guys can have whatever rules you like. Don't be surprised when others they suck and tell you about it. I don't like the rules at Random Select and have openly criticized them. The most they have done as posted a retort, because that is a reasonable thing to do.

As far as your guy's excuse about you don't control you members, you admin and staff and forum rules do influence your community. If your community members are really targeting GOH then what does that say about your rules and community? Also what does it say about the larger Mugen Community as a whole?

In stead of looking outward and blaming other for the criticism of your users, staff, and even your forum itself.... Look inward. All I hear is you guys deflecting. "Well the guild does this and we do that." That doesn't change the fact that others don't like what your community does or is. If you are not going to change, then why bother deflecting and defending yourselves at all? If you are going to change because of feedback on here or anywhere, then again why deflect.

We, the members of the guild are not your problem. You and your community are their own problem.

For people that have their own rules and such, you seem to really be upset about a few users not digging your forum, your users, or your staff. That is your problem, not the users of another forum.

You guys remind me of those authors that attack Amazon when a user post a bad review.

Urgh im not reading all of those replies.

So I will just address some things.
Alex, we are not a team, we dont pretend to be a team, and we avoid any "team" stuff. We try to help people to create if we can, but we do it as a community, not as a sense of team.  The mentality of "us versus them" is not a good one for a hobbie, while there are "teams" that are not ultra competitive, the mentality usually drives people to elect "faces" like cvg currently has vozilla. And then when the faces fuck up, everyone ends up looking bad, as the people they chose to speak for them is doing just that.

I rather have the cvg authors, spriters and coders merge and become people that visit all forums and learn from several sources than to hide before a couple faces that will come to present their stuff, like some kind of publicist, in a way those "publicists" are stealing from the creators the true experience of interacting with the rest of the community.

Here, open challenge from anyone from those close gated communities, come out and play, just because there are foreigners on those other places, they wont steal your wallets..

Well I can say this. I have learned to appreciate MFG a lot more these days.

For the record the administration at CVG is divided on this. 2 of us dont agree that GOH should have been banned, a couple of members are cool either way, and a couple feel his actions here, and on Youtube after the fact earned the ban.

Lets remember when GOH started this thread he wasnt banned. I think he was warned or something like that. (I wasnt here for all that)

At the same time ive seen enough of these flame wars to know people over react and do stupid stuff. There are guys I used to fight with like mad, who are some of my favorite people in this hobby now, so I don't believe in constant fueds.

I might have done something similar to what V did in the heat of the moment. People do malicious things in the heat of the moment. GOH's ban, and some of the things GOH has done in response are hasty, but I believe both parties thought they were just retaliating to each others attacks.

I believe in forgiving one another, and moving on, and let cooler heads prevail.

I think you have to remember theres a whole differant group of people that appreciate the rules, and dont want people cok knocking their every release. Lets face it here at the guild you do a sprite swap, and a minor edit, youre going to get trashed by the community here.

For a lot of people thats how they learn (myself included). Not all people master FF overnight, or know the communities precious rules, or know how to program a cmd to work like MvC, SNK, or MK games do when you 1st start into this. I've been worrking 3-4 years, and still have a lot to learn.

Being a little patient with people you can kinda discern who will be the next oowhap, and who will be the next Wucash. Thats why my focus on a persons "tone" is my issue.

You can give someone all the feedback you want, just do it without any snotty tone. While were not going to ban every smart alec, and sarcastic poster they may get warned if it becomes compulsive. Thats not going to change.

I really don't feel like I should have to defend that policy. If the community doesnt like it, well theres a great site here to enjoy for those people.

What happened to GOH isnt the norm, it's not really policy. It was a flame war that ended up being handled badly all around. Initially GOH really didnt do anything, but some of the staff are upset about the retaliation.

My feeling is that we should let bye gones be bye gones, and try to get along. Theres a lot of guys at the guild that provide critical feedback, and do it well constructed, organized, and provide good suggestions.

That something I will always appreciate even if everyone here chooses to have bad blood with me.

Sorry for the long rant

You should remember as well, not everyone takes feedback the same way. Smacking someone down because they've posted something in a way the creator doesn't actually MIND is not a good way to go. Specially if the feedback is actually important. Now, obviously zoxx hated that method, but sometimes snarky comments are basically ignored. You can tell someone will be a good creator if they are.

Basically, if something ridicules the character without attacking the author and the author still listens and improves, you've got a potential good creator. If they blow up, you don't have a good creator. You have someone in it for too much fame. he's interested in nice char +1, and isn't worth giving feedback to.
