Make everything blockable. If you wanna put logic in it, you might as well make hadoukens unblockable and win by spamming hadoukens coz the human body can't take energy projectiles.  --;

I knew something was missing. How could I forget A&R considering I almost always made it my main weapon in DMC3?

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

:o Wow Awesome Dante he looks great, plays well and everything

well done bugya  :sugoi:

if he ends up as good as Vergil and if you give him a AI that can beat Vergil at least occasionally (in watch mode) I for one will be 100% happy with him

anyway good luck with him bugya and many thanks for doing this character justice and for bringing him into mugen

very much appreciated 8)

cheers :sugoi: :)

Just a heads up, but although his Beowulf ground pound in the air takes super bar away, it doesn't actually require any.

Not sure if this was mentioned already or not but Dante has a brutal infinite on L. LP.

Not in the last update he don't, unless you're in doppelganger style.

His crouch A is actually unblockable. Bugya, I don't know where your head was at when you made the guardflag a C. That's not a guardflag. L, however, is.

This is so good I made a video of some of his moves on youtube. All you have to do is type in "MUGEN Dante" And it will come up with "MUGEN Dante (New Version)"

Here's an updated move list. I changed the command format to the QCB standard, corrected and added a couple techniques.

Updated 10/26 with more info on block/release.

DANTE MOVE LIST

Keep in mind some moves are not assigned yet since this is a beta. Also, the current character portrait (which I've seen mentioned a lot) is likely a placeholder until the character is truly ready. That's what Bugya did during the development of Vergil to indicate it was a WIP. As far as that goes, anything could be a placeholder (the super portraits, command strings, sound effects, anything) until Bugya releases a final final version.

As in DMC3 "Crazy Combos" (CC) can be extended by mashing the last button in a combo.

Rebellion Combo 1: X or X, X or X, X, X
Rebellion Combo 2: X, (pause), X or X, (pause), X, X
Stinger: QCB+X
Million Stab (CC, "Breakdown!"): Mash X after Stinger
Rebellion Launcher: D+X
High Time ("Blastoff!"): F, D, DF+X
Aerial Rave: Aerial X or X, X or X, X, X or X, X, X, X
Helm Breaker: Aerial D+X
Dance Macabre (CC, "Are you ready?"): QCB, HCF+X
Crazy Dance (CC, "Down and out!"): Mash X during Dance Macabre

Beowulf Combo 1: Y or Y, Y, or Y, Y, Y
Beowulf Combo 2: Y, Y, (pause), Y or Y, Y, (pause) Y, Y
Hyper Fist (CC, "Sweet dreams."): Mash last Y of Beowulf Combo 2
Straight: QCB+Y (can be charged)
Beast Uppercut: D+Y
Volcano ("Go to Hell!): D, D+Y (can be charged)
Aerial Volcano ("Go to Hell!"): Aerial D+Y
The Hammer: Aerial Y
Rising Dragon (Shoryuken clone): F, D, DF+Z or D, F, DF+Z
Real Impact (CC, Shin Shoryuken clone, "Catch this!" "Rising Dragon!") (Note: Strongest attack, but has long recovery time if it whiffs.): QCF, QCF+Y
Tornado (CC, Hurricane Kick clone, "You're grounded!"): Mash Y after "Rising Dragon!" during Real Impact.

Ebony and Ivory: F+A
Rainstorm: Aerial D+A

Block (Counter): B
Royal Block: B just as attack hits
Release (Temporary stun): F+B
Royal Release (Knockdown): F+B just as attack hits

Wild Stomp (Throw "You're gone!"): F+Y while close

Quicksilver ("Stand still."): Z+C
Doppelganger: Y+B

Dash: F, F or B, B
Sky Star: Aerial F, F or B, B
Air Hike: Aerial U

Doppelganger is Y and B at the same time.

Could be me, but I always thought he said "Kiss This!" during Real Impact.
That, and for me, it felt like 21416+X was the command for Dance Macabre.

Doppelganger is Y and B at the same time.

Thanks!

And FF2468, I'm pretty sure he says "Catch this!" I've been playing DMC3 pretty routinely since it came out in '05 and that's the general consensus. I also think it makes more sense, FWIW. You can find a zipped folder of the original voice clips for Dante and Vergil on Devils-Lair.org.
Wow. I've never seen a talking mutt before.

That, and for me, it felt like 21416+X was the command for Dance Macabre.

I tested it at several gameplay speeds and QCB, HCF+X seemed to work most consistently.

I've got Fighter Factory Ultimate but I'm only vaguely aware of how to decipher the guts of a character, so if someone can confirm or deny any of these commands please do so.
Wow. I've never seen a talking mutt before.

Another couple things.

-His Dance Macabre ranbu super doesn't "catch" opponents so to speak.  Usually if the first hit connects in a ranbu, they are stuck for the rest of the move.  But if I catch a falling opponent with this move, the first part hits and they fall on the ground.

-Rising Dragon level 3 doesn't "catch" people either.

Or just tell people to read the thread instead of the first post and then complaining when they find that one isn't what they want.

Putting up a link of an important update (specially if the old link is dead) does pretty much sound like a good idea to me though...

In theory we shouldn't need to do that, since the first page of the thread shows that old link is down, and even the new link is in the first page. The problem is that people usually just reads the first post and that's it.
