http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/exlcusive-dantes-inferno-trailer?size=large(No relation to DMC )Looks pretty cool, with a God Of War vibe. But then again trailers can be deceiving.
Because of the sheer staggering surpise at making a video game of a literary classic, Eegra has done this: http://www.eegra.com/pages/show/title/24_02_2009_Survival_Horror_Hamlet_and_Other_Classics/

Dante was supposed to be some regular guy, not a Medieval Warrior. The original book had very little actual fighting. I doubt the original book wouldn't have been worth reading if there was a part where he used a magic cross to evaporate a bunch of ghouls. I understand "Creative license" but this is just stupid. We have Devil May Cry for stuff like this. The monster designs look pretty generic, too, far from the disturbing stuff in the book.

Well, giving a comic book approach to classic material worked for God Of War, so let's give it a chance.
true, but GOW was like a random mixing of different Greek myths with no one specific source. The trailer for this game opens with a freakin' direct quote from the book with a few other elements present. I guess that chick was supposed to be Beatrice. But it's all just presented..strangely. Being an EA game, I'm not gonna be surprised if it's overly polished but slightly lacking gameplay-wise. It really looks like the bastard child of God of War and the Castlevania series. They should have just called it "Spooky Demon Hell Land" and left classic literature out of this.I wonder if they plan on making the whole trilogy, where Dante travels through Purgatory and then into Heaven.
I agree: A game of the oddysey would be pretty good. But certain companies would ruin it with too many additions. Just give me the battle with the Cyclops. However, nobody should make a game of the Illiad.

What the hell would he battle in those chapters ?Unless they do the "omg the heaven's gone mad with power too so lets butcher everyone in there too."And in a not-so-surprising plot twist, you'll have to fight Virgil because he betrays you...and stuff.
