Overview
I am working on a new type of fighting game franchise that will begin its life in Mugen. It’s a game that pits “Ranged-Fighters” against “Close-Fighters.” If it proves to be successful and meets my current (but secret) goal, I will port it to another Engine and add more content and refinements. The game should be released by 2015 or very late 2014 if the progress is sped up by some unknown and surprising means.

Story
The story is set in the year 2001 with a battle between the multiple warriors of the Unseen world. As the battle it out over the different time periods of that year, they would end up causing major damage to the “Seen World.” The winner of those fights would have a choice of how they would rewrite the history of the year 2001 (no, there won’t be a gameplay mechanic for that). The intros and endings of each of the 8 playable fighters will flesh out the entire story (similar to how it was done in MK: Deadly Alliance).

Gameplay
The control scheme of this game is reduced to 3 attack buttons (Light, Medium, and Heavy). Along with these attacks is the pull/dash feature. As the game is based around a separation of ranged and close-combat characters, the other 2 buttons are specific to each class. Ranged fighter will use the pull feature, in which they will use their power to pull the opponent towards them for a close encounter. They will also use “close-counter” skills in which they would dodge and counter enemy close attacks. Close-Combat characters use the self-explanatory dash system as well as the ranged attack deflection system. Both characters are allowed to use 3 special attacks that all only use 1 full flower petal (there are 4). When all of the flower petals are full, the characters may enter their rose release state (which I will explain at another time). The block button is used through hold the back button, but this feature is not official.

Characters
There is very little information on the characters as of now. There will be 8 playable characters (4 Ranged/4 Close) and one unplayable boss (Both Classes). The only two confirmed characters are Rainkai (Close Combat fighter) and Rare (Female ranged fighter). Concept Art and gameplay details on these two will be explained in the near future.

Stages
The stages are remakes of real world locations. The inclusion of the unseen world causes these places to look more futuristic. There are a total of 5-7 stages (depends actually). Three Known stages are New York (9/10/01) and India (01/25/01), do the research and you’d slightly understand a bit of the story.

Music
The Music of the game will be sorta of heavy rock mixed with the musical style of each stage. That’s pretty much it.

Team/Progress
As of now, progress is very slow and even in the pre-alpha stage. I’m learning how to code for mugen and it’s actually easier than I thought. I’m making all of the base sprites of the characters. This might be my biggest obstacle for the moment, but with a bit of time and effort, it won’t be too much of a burden. So far, I’m going solo on this, but all help is accepted, especially spriters and stage artist. If you’d like to help me with this project, just let me know.
