It's a "Straight to Online On Demand" movie by Crackle (kinda like how House of Cards or Orange is the new black being Netflix exclusive shows)

9/30 - Announcement
Quote
Dead Rising: Watchtower is being produced by Contradiction Films with Tim Carter taking the lead on the script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will executive produce. Once Crackle’s exclusivity period ends in the United States, the film will be available on other streaming and OnDemand services.

10/20 - Rob Riggle is your Frank West

I don't have SUPER high hopes for this, but given how the zombie genre has evolved to become a lot more economical in terms of resources (see the last 2 seasons of TWD to understand how with very little visual effects tricks you can make a convincing zombie slaughter) and how straight to online doesn't mean it will automatically suck (see Mortal Kombat Legacy, and Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist), so there's a good chance to have this be actually decent.

So yeah, let's wait and see.
