Hmm....doesn't work in Mugen 1.0, and crashes WinMugen.  Re-downloaded, just to be sure I didn't mess with any files, and still nada.

Yea, saw it shortly after you posted that.  Thank you.

I notice his "PROBLEM?" Super causes a lot of lag...though that may be due to Mugen 1.0, I've notice a similar issue pop up on Stig87's Android 18.  Though if it's the for the same reason, I cannot tell, I'm no expert here.

Personally, his "Gooble pls" special seems to deal too much damage, and take up too much of the screen.  Ends up rather cheap when used repetitively.  Also, when using his "Hyper Nyan Cat attack", the rainbows behind them sometimes just....stay on screen.  Not sure if this is intentional or not....



Edit: Dur, yea, forgot to mention that was on Mugen 1.0.  So that might be the cause of the lasting rainbows right there....

- I had to correct the DEF file, because you put a link to kfm.cns.
- F+z is an infinite in the corner, as the opponent can't recover in the air.
- Missing required animation 5200.
- Hi stance CLSN could be a little larger.
- SP and SK shouldn't be chainable into themselves.
- LoL would look better without shadows.
- Random Crap could have different damage and vels depending on the button used. Also, all random craps thrown should have the same CLSN (you just randomize graphics, not gameplay).
- You shouldn't be able to spam Nyan Cat so much. Limit its use. Plus, since it randomized, it can lead to infinites if you're lucky.
- The enemy's vels at the end of Kill it with fire/thunder make absolutely no sense...
- Lv3 Problem = MASSIVE SLOWDOWN (tested on Winmugen)
- Can't perform Problem with y+z or x+z, only x+y (same for kicks).
- Overall, I'm having a hard time performing the supers. Commands don't seem to have the good priority.

Gameplay needs adjustments here and there, but the overall "feeling" of the character is fine. Animations are smooth, which is pretty impressive.
Overall, that's a very nice start that needs some fixing.

I do not think so either.

It would be desirable for the character's damage output to be reduced for balance sake.

I don't think this char is meant to follow any gaming accuracy, priorities, etc. I assume it's a char just to have fun with. If balance and all were given to this char, it'd probably defeat the purpose of him creating it. I guess if it's too OP though, rather than add a damage dampener, you could always just reduce the attack value of him.

A character can be made for the fun factor, but also have very solid gameplay and complex mechanics.
That's why The_None's characters are so famous in the first place.

I'm not saying that a fun orientated char can't be balanced... I'm saying that I'm not sure if that's his intent with creating this char. His intent may have been focused on aspects of unbalance.

Yeah, it depends on your intent for damage ratios. I feel 250 is way too high for a Lv1... I usually don't even want to hit a 200 mark with Lv1s. You have to take into account combos and such. While 250 may not seem very high on it's own, when comboed in however, it could reach up to heights as high as 500... All at the cost of one power bar... And you guys said he didn't have a damage dampener. Even with a damage dampener, I still keep my Lv1s under 200. Though once again, this all boils down to his intent.

The damage of a move depends on the difficulty of its command and on its effectiveness and usefulness.

For instance, a super that costs 1 power bar, is done by pressing a+b, and shoots a homing projectile that doesn't stop until it hits should only do like 60 damage points.

However, a super that is done by HCF*2 -> QCB + P, requires 3 power bars,  shoots a projectile that moves slow and disappears after 120 ticks, and can't be canceled into should probably do over 300 damage points. Over 400 even. Especially if it's a grappling move.

I never knew my abrasiveness was so suddenly unappreciated. I'll try to be as politically correct as much as possible for me.

  • The rageface meme is a huge turnoff for me after how heavily reddit has beaten it into the ground.
  • Working with templates is generally a bad idea unless you completely understand every in and out of it. Even then, you should never ever use any of the Fighter Factory Ultimate templates.
  • The collisions all need a lot of work. Due to the way they've been made, a lot of attacks will miss up close or even never ever hit your opponent. You should look at Kung Fu Man's collisions for an example for acceptable CLSNs. This CLSN tutorial is also great for the general dos and donts of general CLSN making.
  • Everything chains into everything (even dashes). You really don't want this because it leads to infinites or just completely shutdown your opponent. That and no one wants to be reminded of 2001 Brazilian creations.
  • Speaking of infinites, 3P by itself is an infinite due to what I assume is a lack of juggle point allocation and/or lack of cooldown. Hitting a falling opponent with the LOL projectile can lead to a juggle infinite. Generally you need to make everything not chain into everything (especially not allowing to have a move chain into itself) and give each move the appropriate cooldown.
  • QCFx2+LK/MK doesn't work. I'm doing the inputs but nothing comes out. I even tried adding a simpler command to the cmd and trying it, but it still didn't work.
  • The framerate drops like crazy during "Problem?", most likely due to all of the helpers it spams. Try to cut down on having that many helpers on screen at once.

I may not be a coding expert (although I wish I was), but I have to say that Derp is a lot of fun, and that's what matters most in my book. He's certainly a keeper in my collection. I'm sitting Derp right next to Dee Bee Kaw. Thanks for the share!!  :sugoi:

if you do somehow manage to use it. it costs no power. this leads to the AI spamming it like crazy sometimes.
