Hi people, i'm the creator of mugen story mode 2.x tool.

I've created that tool in 2011 when i'm a still an student, years have been passed and now i'm finished my studies at university.

I have some ideas to develop a new version of this tool, but i want to know if someone is interesed in using it.
And have some feedback of what features will be convenient to add.
 
Some ideas:

-Storyboard support (i don't know ANYTHING of *.ssf storage format, if someone can help with this :) i can support it, if not i can create a new
format to store the images for mugen story mode)
 
-No more  story mode/classic mode menus, i don't want to code a new full engine, but i can code menus, and character screen selection to include the story mode with the other modes, i really want to create a fully customizable menu structure, when you can add arcade like modes, story like modes, etc. To allow things like having different selection screens for arcade and versus, etc. Maybe a beat em up mode using paintown support, etc.

-I will move the wxwidgets interface to SDL (i have coded a full rpg for university in SDL 1.2 last year, so i know a little of it), except for the movie player

-Other things will be keeped, like char/stage unlocking system. Etc.

-There will be heavy changes, so 2.x and 1.x storys and all will not be compatible.

So i added a poll to this, if you have any idea to the development, post it. bye.

in version 2.x, you did  the system read round by round .... would be better if the system reads fight to fight

I did it fight to fight for single and simul, but not for team mode battles, that was round by round
, that's because mugen doesn't have a command line to launch the game in team mode, i can't do anything about it

the problem with that was you always have "Round 1" , in the fight, i think the only solution to that is to do various fight.def
with different round numbers...

well ... SFF is like a folder where will the images and sprites mugen.
What you need to know about it exactly?

I don't know about the SFF format too much myself, but for mugen 1.0 and later there is SFFv2 format which is said to have different type of convertion and structure. meanwhile characters can still have old sff format. so i would call character sprite files kinda unreliable since they can be 2 different formats.
Nice to see you back man. in the past i wrote a couple of PMs to you on some forums with my suggestions on improving your tool, i hope you've read them. If not, i can try to search for the forums and paste them here.
For me the most desireable are 2 things:
- launching mugen storyboards at will, it is as possible as launching fights via command line
- stronger HTML support (not even asking for XML and stuff like java though)

Honestly, I've never tried that add-on, but just the idea is amazing. When I saw it, I thought: it's very interesting and something that makes MUGEN more polished and complete.
Anyway, the support for 1.1 version sounds great. Good luck.

Great news! I always was creating my stuff with a view to the possibility of playing Full Game(With Story Mode). Im sure that as a programmer you'll think about everything - for me, as a user it would be cool put story mode to the Mugen main menu and the ability to place images in a higher resolution than 320x240.

I would also love it, if you would update MSM. And please make it more user-friendly this time around, because with the current version, I have no idea, what I do.
I also would like it, if the Story Mode can have multiple paths like in Guilty Gear, a map system like in Arcana Heart, or even some visual novel like dialogs like in BlazBlue, though I'm not sure, whenever you can pull that off...

ehh, many years have been passed, i've started doing something called "MugenProPlus Frontend" today.

- Note: This is not compatible with msm2.x

I'm planning to do a full menu option rewrite, and left mugen only for fights.
so you can customize all except fights...

I've created an animation format today for it.

Yes , I'm still working on it, I've only been a little short of time last weeks, when i finish the arcade mode i will upload a new preview.


by the way, anyone knows what are the key number codes in mugen.cfg?
