Laguna confirmed? Jesus, this is amazing. Now Just add either Sabin, Cyan, Setzer or Shadow, Maybe Auron and I'll be happy (Well, Yuffie and Vincent would've been nice too, but... Tifa is fine too)
Auron is waaay too overrated ;P

Galbadia Army gear for Laguna: Hell yeah.
Amano gear for Squall: Fair enough, I guess.  Would've preferred SeeD Cadet gear, I always thought that looked better than the Officer outfit.
Edea gear for Ultimecia: Hah, all the R=U fools are shitting themselves, I bet.

Also, fuck yeah Laguna leg cramps.
Hibernating.

Also, does the Japanese site not load at all for anyone else?

Edit: Laguna's Ex mode is called "The Faeries Have Come!".  I friggin lol'd.

Nomura On Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

Tetsya Nomura shares a few additional comments on Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy in this week's Famitsu. Nomura tells the magazine that there are additional character announcements on the way, including character(s) from the Super NES Final Fantasy games. Also, it looks like the original's story will be included in Duodecim.

There will be some sort of surprise announcement at the January 18 1st Production Something-Or-Other event. I believe this is in reference to Duodecim.

Hmmm, Characters from the SNES FF games.........GILGAMESH!!!!!! or Celes could be rounded from that.

But my god!

Not only is Laguna badass, but FF8's Boss Theme is in the game too!(Even though I do hate the game, it's music rocks!)

I think I fainted from sheer badassness!

You can laugh at me, but I started playing FFX for the first time few weeks ago (just defeated Seymour final form) and I really would like to see Auron in Duodecim, I don't know how overrated he is as you guys say, but the guy is pure badassness.

There are always people who think a character is overrated just because he's popular. Auron deserves his popularity because he's one of the best characters in the series (not to mention the most badass). He's practically overdosed with badass related tropes.

Anyways, Duodecim will actually have the entire story of the original and will have 60+ hours of gameplay. Unless you liked the chess system (which most people hated) there won't be any point to the first game anymore.

You could argue that conceiving him mustn't have been that hard, since it could have been a matter of just mashing a bunch of baddass factors from other characters into one.

Either way, I'm indifferent about him for the time being - I'm a bit more concerned to see who'll be the 2nd XI character. There has to be one now that XII has 2, being an MMO is no excuse, that game is loaded with decent characters to use.

One big concern I now have is that the character page for FF5 in the series retrospective page lacks Gilgamesh, who fits this game's multiverse setting better than anyone else... I hope that's just SE being pricks and that they'll still add him as more than a summon.

They did stated that not every game might get a new person. Also I'm hoping for a person on chaos' side for now.

Throwing ingredients in a pot does not a great dish make.  Despite being a walking trope, he's also one of the game's more meaningful characters. One whose storyline they actually bothered to develop.

There really is no arguement; when it comes to adding another X character, Auron is the most obvious choice.
Yuna is not a good design gameplay-wise for Dissidia, and to throw in any other character would be to throw in one of the much lesser/flatter characters just to spite fans.

The only other character they could add would be Seymour, seeing as he's really the only non-monster antagonist in the game.

There was that quoted interview bit about new characters being only from the SNES games onward, so FFs 1 to 3 get no one new in them - the writing and character variety got a lot better after the NES days anyway.

I thought it was stated a bit before that about not every game getting another new person. I could be stupid and be wrong.

Also I thought the quote meant a new person from the SNES games and no other. Again I could be stupid.

I wonder if Kimahri is popular enough to have any chaces to make it in, the Ronso ppl are so funny, I loled when one of that two guys who hate Kimahri said they would build a statue for Yuna with a big horn.

"Mountain knows Kimahri strong.Kimahri may pass"  :laugh4:
