Lady is a Devil May Cry protagonist who, unlike every other playable character, is human. She mostly relies on guns to defeat her enemies along with her rocket launcher called after her mother Kalina Ann. She isn't really a close combat styled character. Most of her attacks are inspired by her DMC3 boss version, her Project X Zone's appearance or her DMC4SE's playable version.

whoa this looks neat, did you get sprites of her walking and getting and whatnot sprites that pxZ lacks?

Dazz released a spritesheet with bodies separated from arms and heads so I did my best to make everything that was missing, but the walking animation looks a bit tacky to me... :/

very ambitious indeed. unfortunately the sprites and animations are way too stiff and static.
you've barely used her other sprites.
i'm planning on frankenspriting her a full sheet someday too, so ill let you know when ill do that.

on spriters resource there are joint sprites
you can make as many frames for a character as you want

I used the joint sprites as well, but in the game the only thing she does is jumping around firing everywhere with every weapon she's got in her arsenal. Because I tried to mix her attacks from the 3 games she appears in, I couldn't make a character just based on jumping, firing right, jumping, firing left, jumping (...) and do it all again, so I tried my best at mixing body parts from the separated sprites to create other moves than just jumping.

Also, her hair are short, her clothes are close to her body, not many things that can move when she actually moves, making it look static. But I have to agree that some animations are extremely stiff (like how she jumps I guess), I'll add them to my "to fix list" for an update.

- Most standing attacks were changed so that the character's fight style becomes more fluid :
  > Standing x, y and z became Bayonet attacks
  > a became the missile launching attack
  > Button x is now dedicated to pistols attacks (except standing and air)
  > Button y is now dedicated to submachine gun attacks (except standing)
  > Button z is now dedicated to shotgun attacks (except standing and air)
- Some jump animations were changed
- Added one new winpose with a motorcycle
- Added two superattacks : Trigger Happy (inspired) [D, D, x] and Shredder Shot [D, D, z]
- Crouching y became Ground Zero [D, B, z] and Standing y became Crouching y

Looks great. Congratulations. Are you done regarding making or adding new sprites?
Posts counts are stupid regarding not allowing PM's. Especially when needing to discuss something with staff/admin

I suggest using the Width state controller for these moves so they connect at closer distances.



Gunfire FX lingers from air C/Z


Headpos and midpos stuff



The machine gun sound fx that plays during the jump normals should have a channel. As they are now, they play over each other when going into the gunfire attack again.

Sorry for the late answer... :)

- Gunfires are now removed when Lady lands after an air attack
- Head.pos and Mid.pos fixed
- Machine Guns sounds are now in a channel
- Some moves were changed to connect at closer distance (I tried the Width state controller but couldn't make what I wanted...)

Small Update (23/12/2016)

- Two new special attacks (D, B, a; D, B, y) :
-> "Avoiding Bullets" : Lady jumps backwards while shooting with her submachine gun.
-> "Scatter" : Lady throws a bunch of grenades randomly in the air.
- Her "slide" can now be done backwards.
- Other small details were changed.
