The only secret santas I've ever been involved with on forums are in webcomic communities where it is easy for someone to draw a Christmas themed fan art or make a page for you.

In those there are always people that don't come through so you have to have backups. But in this case it may involve money so that'd be tougher to do.

There are two options:

Online/Steam: we trade steamids and randomize them, everyone gifts eachother a cool/shitty (but IRONICALLY fun!!) game
Actual secret santa: Addresses confided to a google doc or whatnot, randomly paired, people have deadline to mail stuff, etc. Clear rules on what can/can't be mailed etc. Doesn't need to be big. I've done it before on another community.

In terms of backups, idk, we didn't run into an issue where someone wasn't mailing the other person. Everyone got cool gifts and posted them and had fun

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

I misread the thread as "Do you even XMAS GIFS?" and expected the thread to be half filled with Christmas themed gifs and half filled with posts asking "Why not just use the fav gif thread?"

I got an early Wii U after we saw a good deal at a store.
Not sure if I'll also try to push my budget for Smash 4 Wii U, probably gonna get myself a paying job before I do that.

getting 8tb hd and a new chair for work.

giving, a new cellphone and a 60in screen for my mother , not sure what to gift my uncle yet; wrote a 200usdk check for my gf.

I like the idea of the steam one. I also googled up that you can send someone a wii u game. That's something I'd be more interested in myself. Would there be minimums given for the lowest amount a person can spend? (I've never been involved with one that uses real money online before)

Someone that only has a Steam account getting someone with a Wii U and Steam account would obviously be gifting a Steam gift. But if both have Wii U and Steam then it'd allow more options.

Watching Amagi Brilliant Park / Nanatsu no Taizai

It seems that this year there will be no gifts for me and not because nobody loves me cause this year has been financially speaking a pain in the ass to my family and to myself too, but even with this situation was able to purchase at least four toys to my daughter and one to my wife, which she is going to select cause she doesn't want surprises or presents that she don't need, guess that there won't gonna be videogames to me, not new ones or at least used but it's ok, really love the expression of my girl when she open her presents, Santa's gonna visit her school this next 18 to gave her this buddy that have purchased at Kool's one night ...

Won't be surprised if they cost an arm and a leg (or possibly more).

Also, I think giving gifts via Steam account seems a bit more easier than sending gifts via mail/other things (Both do involve money, but I find it easier to gift someone via a click of a button rather than putting a gift in a package and send it to an address).

I'm unaware on the Wii U option, however. :/
