Don't we still need to hear when she learned the Doctors name ?

They never said where she learned it, but honestly I'd rather they never did.  I'd much rather they just explain it away by saying he told her on one of those off-screen meetings the two of them had than have them try and shoehorn her back in after her story arc has been completely wrapped up.

I was seeing the season 7 on BBC and there's a chapter where she knows about his real name, in "Journey into the Heart of the TARDIS" where the Doctor and some other guys that appears in the chapter go in the search of Clara, and she went to a big library inside the TARDIS and she read some of the Great Time War Book, and there she knows the real name of the Doctor

That's Clara, I don't think River is in this episode. Beside, the whole point of her very first episode with Ten when she tells him she knows is that he figures there's only one reason he would ever tell her - not that she must've read it in some history book.

so after wasting so much time watching chinese cartoons i finally said fuck it and started watching doctor who again

i finished season 2 last week (rose.... ! ;_;) and just started season 3. and you know what i realized? i hate watching doctor who! yes i bloody hate the man because i say i'm only going to watch one episode and go to bed but then i need to watch the next one and now i can't go to bed because the motherfuckng daleks are taking over manathan... IN THE 1930'S!

so, martha! lovely gal hasn't really done anyting besides getting captured (so she is doing her job as the doctor's assistant perfectly fine so far). hasn't done anything to make me like her yet (might had preffered the hysterical bride....)

ANYWAY, DALEKS!

just got 20% cooler... and deadlier thanks to second-hand smoke

In all seriousness, good on you for getting into this show. It's had its ups and downs but it's still the same timey wimey show I started watching in 2005.

Re:Capaldi's costume. I think its fine. But I much prefer the scarf/coat combo he was wearing in one of the promo pics.

Btw, does anyone watch The Musketeers?  Capaldi's in that too if you want a good look of his acting skills that doesn't involve 'fuck' in every other sentence

Martha's nice, but out of Ten's major companions her overall story arc is probably the weakest of the bunch.  Which is strange, because her series contains what are probably the best stories out of Tennant's entire era (Blink, Human Nature/Family of Blood).

I'm actually seeing the series 3 in BBC's DW repetitions, and I've to say I loved Martha as companion. She's very energetic and there's some kind of sexual tension between her and the Doctor, IMO. Also I finished to see series 1 online (the Ninth Doctor one), the double chapter Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways is so intense to see them together and a good finale for Eccleston, I would like he didn't abandoned DW so soon, a second season of him would be Fantastic!

something that might have helped ninth's popularity is the fact that in the japanese dub he is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi

and let's not forget that the ninth doctor was just plain awesome FANTASTIC!

just watched first two epsiodes of season 4. am i the only one who preffered the theme for 2005-2007?

i personally preffer donna over whatever her name w- MARTHA JONES! yeah...

so i just watched 2nd of episode of the 4th season featuring... peter capaldi! as a guest star (caecilius). who would have guessed that 5 years later that guest star would become the 12th doctor (well, it happened to tennant so why not?)

It's actually happened quite a few times before.  Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) was in the Fires of Pompeii episode as well, and Freema Agyeman had a role in the Series 2 finale before she was cast as Martha in the following season.  Colin Baker even had a part in a Fifth Doctor story before he became the Sixth.  Even going as far back as the original series with the First Doctor, Peter Purves had a minor speaking role earlier in the same episode that his regular character, Steven Taylor, debuted.

Reusing actors is practically a Doctor Who tradition.

So they're teasing a new recurring character coming up in the next season.



His name's Danny Pink, played by Samuel Anderson.  Apparently he's also a teacher at Coal Hill School, just like the First Doctor's first companions Ian and Barbara, and the latest Doctor's latest companion Clara.  But they way they're talking about him makes me think he's not just going to be a new companion.  Maybe he's going to be one of those on-again-off-again characters like River or Captain Jack.
