I did a palette hatchet job to make a new character but I'm wondering if I can give him his own introduction?

Not exactly.

If you use tons of helpers, they each can have their own pallettes.

Well, here is the deal:

If the main character is in the intro, he need to have the shared palette.

If there are other people (i.e. servants, friends, etc.), then they can be designated as helpers and they can have their own palettes.

Just make sure that you know where are the palettes themselves.
