I have played and owned all kinds of fighting games like Tekken, Guilty Gear XX, Street Fighter, Samurai Showdown, Dead or Alive, Super Smash Bros and many, many others. I even own Ninja Masters on the Neo Geo. The only game I haven't played is King of Fighters. I heard it was a rip off of Street Fighter with Ryu ripoff named Ryo and all the male characters look like something from a Abercrombie magazine. I know I shouldn't take these opinions seriously but before I play a KoF character on MUGEN, tell me what you think.(side note; which creator makes the best KoF characters and where can I get them. Please note that Im not requesting, im just curious, thats all.)

Haw.I like this thread.It so funny.I for one prefer hardcore games with advanced technical gameplay like Mortal Kombat.But yeah, it only features a couple of shotos and very few headswaps, so it's no fun at all.Innovative character designs scare me.

Some one did tell me about KoF at first it's a rip off of Street Fighter. they see SF make it big time so they start to do some thing similar (too similar)when the time past by and they start to have they own style.but yeah the art work it not what most people would like.so they go for the cute girls they put many hot one in they game just to get some fan If it not for those girls KoF won't making it this far with they gameplay alone
I'm a diehard capcom fan and only tried my first KOf game on KOF 99 and it was cool dude and it hook me up to the series. more than GGX and MK series. try it.

The experimental moves don't stick around if they fail anyway, I think.Downside is how I keep forgetting which moves a char has in a particular version. The only reason I posted this thread was out of curiousity about whether KoF was a good game or not. Im suprised at Wild Tengu's reply, saying that the series sucked yet he has Ryo as his avatar. Plus, I know that if I play KoF on MUGEN, I may get the wrong experience of what a TRUE KoF game is like. I guess I should wait until KoF 12 comes out... Btw, who is the main character of KoF anyways? Is it Kyo, Terry, Iori, Rock, Andy or something?

My opinion: Better than street fighter but not as easy to get to. Get neorage and try out a few of them. My faves are 97 98 02 and XI. Why do I like it better? Well, first off its fast, if the game is playing slow its cuz you and or the competition is slow. Larger variety in terms of cast and move types and design. HUGE CAST, means I never get bored of it. Hell I still haven't used every char.Also the game system nerfs the importance of projectiles since you can glide past them. Which means your not forced to block or jump. It's honestly the deepest most technical 2D fighter from the old days (not always a good thing). Even after SFIII and IV I still think the games looks better in terms of design (I LOVE SFIV and III)
