Finally here is Mr. Wiggin himself, my favorite Bobobo Character: DON PATCH

He is a sort of Guilty Gear style character (wanabe), but he lacks essential stuff like FD, RC, Burst and the one hit kill.
Also he has lvl2 and lvl3 hypers (lvl3 are more like fun moves though).

I only tested for about 3 minutes and so far it is a very nice character, Extremely nice character.

i take that back

ITS A FREAKING EXTREMELY NICE, FUN TO PLAY, FUNNY CHARACTER.

the moves are fun to watch, and do, i like the choice of sounds as well.

i will tell you if any errors occur. :)



- the QCB + x should explode when it hits the ground i think :P

- maybe you could just use his Wlk fwd animation for the walk back and make him turn around?

- the missile hyper you got debug error on them, something about divisible, must need to use "Ceil" or something
   i. i think that hyper should make the missiles explode a little faster after no contact, and have more fluid explosion on contact...

i loe this character the transformation and sounds in it make it VERY VERY ENJOYABLE, plus if our losing just tranform to SUPER DON Patch or fuse with Bobo.

its a shame how freaking awesome this character is.

Thats actually a good idea. I might add that sometime (Currently I need a brake, I cant take any more wiggin atm  ;) )

I dont really like chars that use their walk fwd anim also for the walk back (for me it looks kinda weird if youre not facing your opponent in a fight). But if there are more people who think his kind of "slide back" anim looks awkward then maybe I will change that.

Thats strange. Ive tested him alot, and I dont get any debug warnings, neither with my mugen nor with the default standard. I looked
over the code now and I dont see anything that could cause any warnings. In which state did you get those warnings? (state 3007? ->missile helper?)

Thanks. The two super modes are actually more fun moves cause they have no dmg scaling and very simple hitdefs (no vel and recovertime scale). Also I coded the AI to not use those skills (would also be hard to code that for the floating professional patch)

For now I think Mr. Jelly Jiggler is next on my list.

dude, you use english sounds +10! english dubbed bobobo was one of my all time favorite insane animes. after jelly, can you do bobobo?

you got some ways to go before you catch up with the king of japanese bobobo character makers "ju":

As someone who has had experience in chibi characters, it's generally better to just have small characters than to blow them up (especially when you're using that filter for scaling)

Sorry I seriously dont know what you mean. Why is it generally better to have a chibi character instead of a normal sized one? Chibi characters just dont work for me, they cant compete with normal sized ones.
Have you actually test played this char? If you have please give me specific criticism why he would be better with half of his size (also dont forget to watch some CPU fights)

What he means is, in his opinion, it's better to leave his sprites unscaled and unfiltered and leave him at his original height.  You could make a different CNS so that he's scaled to normal sizes, though.

But he technically isn't a chibi; that's his appearance in the show itself and thus should be normal sized.  Unless chibi means originating from a low resolution game such as from a GBA or SNES.
No  Dark Sean and Gouken are Good characters

nice and funny idea this char but juggles too much so i deleted it. (that means i dont like excessive jugglers) ::)

You know he has the Guilty Gear System. If you look close then you will see that the damage is highly decreasing if his combo is long enough (after 10 hits he does nearly no damage). The Vel Y on the other hand is highly Increasing so that it is at some point impossible to continue the combo. I kind of tried to implement this the same way MUTEKI did with his chars, but a lot simpler (like 5000 lines of code simpler  ;))

I know the AI keeps juggling a lot and thats challenging, but come on its THE Don Patch, he has to kick ass!

for you not for me, im not saying the char is bad done . There are styles and i dont like jugglers abusive.

As for kirby chars I completely agree with you, but Don patch? Wouldnt work out, sry.
How are the two not related? Anyway, if you're going to blow up a character, at least use regular scaling and not the filter you're currently using.

Very simple: Don Patch is from a Manga/Anime series with normal sized humans and I took the sprites from a game to the series. It would look very weird if Don Patch cant even reach the knee of human characters (in comparison to the manga/anime). Also I did not implement his moves from the GBA game (dont even know that game) I made my completely own moveset.

Whereas Kirby & Co have their origins in video games and if you want to implement THE original kirby you got to keep that in mind.

Anyway, if you're going to blow up a character, at least use regular scaling and not the filter you're currently using.
Like the dude would say: 'Well thats just like your opinion man!', and if not I have to ask you again: Why?
Are you judging from the screenshots or actual gameplay? Because I got to admit on screenshots it looks awkward, but in motion it looks good in comparison to linear scaling IMO (<- dont forget to add that next time ;))
