Seems not to be drawn sprites but 3D models in 2D.
This Athena rippoff launching her Psychoball is just too Copy / paste. :P

first of all i am happy about every new fighting game which looks like it could be good. especially if it is using 2d mechanics and if it borrows from kof..well..better than..let say skullgirls or death cargo

i will care about thsi game if it will be released outside china + on console or steam

This is an MMO fighter, actually, from the looks of it.
It's basically a spriteswapped XIII. Seriously, exact same hitsparks. Might be using the same engine as well, who knows.

Shameless ripoff? Sure, but sounds like f2p so idgaf.

I don't know if it's the frame rate of the video, but the animation doesn't look as good as I thought they were in the shaky cam footage. Not even sure if it's 3d or not(if they are sprites  they look 3d based at least). Good to see Freeman doing some work. ::)

The game visually looks terrible and the mechanics are completely borrowed but the gameplay looks fluid and it flows like a real fight should.

Well Speaking of SF4/KOF Ripoffs, here are some of the names for these characters that are playable.
Ameth (Blue-haired Girl with projectiles)
Brazel (Portugese K')
Claire Fox (Kula)
Ell Blue (or Dive From divekick. lol)
Kuraki Kaoru (Athena Obviously)
Legend (Ryo-Gouken)
Shanwoo (Shen-Woo/Ralf guy)
Tsukikage Arashi (T.K. aka Freeman)
Yan (Kusanagi Clone of course)
Long (Bruce Lee/Fei-long)
? There was another character in the works who is a grappler type who reminds me of ralf/clark & Abel put together. Not sure what his name is but he is either unlockable or still in beta process..But overall there are a few blanks left which means more characters are already underway as we speak.

First is the downloader, second leads you to a different page and the third is the full installer.

I'm not sure if you're able to get the beta keys to play the game anymore. They were up on the official website, but it was a pain for non-chinese users to get it and it was for a limited time only IIRC.

If you've played or even seen footage from the game it's pretty obvious that it's 2D, it uses pre rendered sprites like Killer Instinct.

Ah, so that's the trick.

I mean, I have seen some low quality footage, and there were some very obvious moves ripped off directly from SSF4AE. Then I saw the textures on these models and the color count, and it just felt unnatural to think it was 2D ... so it wasn't that obvious.

I don't really recall him having any dp's in 3D MK since in there, he always had these three staple specials: Ice Ball, Ice Clone and Slide/Cold Shoulder.
Armageddon added an ice pillar, sure, but it was in no way an anti-air. Or at least, it was pretty impractical for that purpose. It was mostly tacked on for the air combo gimmicks the game added.

If you meant as a style move, I dunno if a command uppercut would easily count as a "dp".

I can understand that they give no fucks about copyright and whatnot but what about SNK? Don't they have some input when it comes to this now that they're officially tied to the game? I really doubt SNK would be ok with this.

i think there's more to it when it comes to the copyright, cuz snk/nintendo/whoever else wouldve probably issued a cease and desist or some shit if they felt like they were pushing it

Sooo, the voting site from two pages ago now puts a notification in Chinese and doesn't load the vote counts after I close the message.
I tried copying the message in the second time, but for some mad reason, it won't let me. Using Chrome, FYI.

It's a beat-em-up/arena style mode Tencent is adding into KoC... not that unheard of.

Smash (and maybe Power Stone) has teams, but their max is/was 4 at a time.

Uh... well, SNK already tried to do that and failed, they even tried it with both 2D and 3D technology, both times canceled (I don't even know if KOF World, the game that was supposed to be bundled with KOF XII for PC had a trailer, we only got spritework and artwork AFAIK, at least the 3D one had trailers).

Didn't SNKP outsource World (I know they outsourced the 3D one). I mean, they do have a library of beat-em-up's to use as reference (as well as this game) so I could see them trying something like this. Dabbling with those MOBAs/MMOs would be put to use at least (not that I would expect much but hey, beats nothing).
