So after finally coming to a decision to re-download MUGEN and try to get involved in getting used to it again, I downloaded Mugen 1.0 and every time I press an function number key (keys over the numbers) it will pop up my "HP Help Support" or whichever program that function key is associated with (which I know this means that my keys are the hotlinks connected, which is why it automatically pops up)

I'm using Windows 8.

My question is: How do I stop my function number keys from popping up those programs so I can press the "F1" key for the screen on MUGEN?

If you're just trying to bypass the first screen on startup, just edit this in the mugen.cfg

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

On the other hand, if you're trying to use the debug keys, I can't help you there. :(

HP? the same thing happened to me, to bypass HP support and press the actual F1 key, you need to press the "fn" key located beside windows key, then press F1...
or like I did download "key remaper" and re-re map your keys

for example my F1 calls HP help, F2 and F3 changes brightness, F4 does somethinf with the screen.... key remaper fixed that
