A friend recently introduced me to a Dragon Ball webcomic called Dragon Ball Multiverse. Here's the link : http://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/accueil.html (click on the flag in the top right for other languages if you want). The action takes place 10 years after the end of Dragon Ball Z, and doesn't take in account DBGT. The graphics are really very nice, and the fights are entertaining. Some may say the scenario is stupid, but hey, we like Mugen, which is for most people a way to get the crossovers we'll never have, so I consider DB Multiverse to be the ultimate crossover as well. Anyway, I think the webcomic perfectly respects the spirit of Toriyama's Dragon Ball, and it's a good read for any Dragon Ball fan.
You discovered something wonderful and best of all it doesn't have DBGT which to begin with was contradictory to DBZ. The graphics look amazing, GREAT FIND
Wow.The art is spot on Toriyama, amazingly well done. Up to page 30 now, it's getting better every page
I watched it for like 2 months or so. Everything is so cool, both story and graphic style. They imitate Toriyama style very well. Story is suprising each page and there is some humor too. Too bad it have so short fights. Sad thing is, if they get more than 5 paqge people complain while in real mangas fights take chapters so it's 10-20 pages per chapter...
This webcomic is decent, surprised me when i was expecting "oh just another shit webcomic"Graphics are amazing and nearly identical to toriyama's style, story is decent and I like how the unimportant fights are short and the more important ones are decently timed without stretching too long or short.
One of my friends is part of the translator team for portuguese, he offered himself after he found out they were using a french person and an automatic translator to halfass it with hilarious results."you they are who we become searching!!"
I thought it was gonna be another shitty webcomic too, but no, these guys actually do a great job. Everything reminds me of Toriyama, from the art to the story itself. Added to my RSS feeds.
Just read through it all. Not only is this incredibly-well-done, but this is exactly what Dragonball GT SHOULD'VE been. The general flow of everything, the fights, the humorous moments; all perfectly executed. I'd love nothing more than to see this made in anime-form as well.Thank you very much for this link.
I like the fact that they added interesting alter egos and dropped spectators like Krillin and Yamcha.
most of the new fighters are pretty obvious choices, though I would have liked to see more creativity.Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltybut the fused namekian was actually clever, even if he should not be as strong.
Creatively speaking, I'd say it's right on the money with Toriyama. As far as the outcome of these battles, I'd also say they're even more interesting than some in Dragonball Z.Titiln said, July 16, 2009, 02:49:15 amthis is good but it's no buttlord gtI... agree?
Frederika Trollkastel~ said, July 15, 2009, 05:01:47 pmwhat amkes dbgt contradict z ?In one of the later DBGT episodes towards the end of the series against super Android 17 saga The present Trunks recalls the android though have actually never met him before in the Z series but instead was his future self from the original time line. So his warning to the others at that time about the new super android couldn't have meant anything to the present day Trunks unless he remembers original android as an infant or something. Even then it's never explained or that the android himself might have told him or that his mother could have explained the complicated scenario from the past. Also there was another one that I can't fully remember but it was contradictory as well. On topic I'd like to see a brand new villain in the comic that is Toriyama's style with an authentic background, I haven't seen any in the cover pages, it looks like repeated villains only, to be honest I haven't started reading it but I will as soon as time catches up with me so excuse me if I didn't catch the baddy yet.
I was reminded of Avocado from the last movie, that's the kind of things I would like to see - a new villain they could have met but never did for X reason, either weaker or actually stronger. Think that Cell was built for revenge against Goku, that Buu came to Earth because Babidi felt the energy from Gohan killing Cell - well, another villain that would have come in the same kind of circumstances.
Byakko said, July 16, 2009, 10:10:40 amI was reminded of Avocado from the last movieSpecial, but yyyyeah, more or less, it was a nice concept.I just wish time dilation in Dragon Ball (And most series that require intergalactic travel) was handled as nicely as in Gunbuster.
This is a pretty good find, indeed. I'm kinda retarded though, so I started reading from right to left as soon as I saw the black and white parts.
This is just so damn adorable:http://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-120.html Nice execution so far - and as for the fights being short, hardly bothers me - my favorite in he whole original series was Trunks versus Freezer, which was pretty brief (and got a little expanded in the anime while maintaining brevity). Nice to see they included a neat reference to that.Cell game was a 2nd favorite, and so far the ol' biological mish-mash delivers.
