Looks great. The first screenshot reminds Me of the Dragonball Z Online MMPORG where you were timetraveling and doing missions. This could be the same with this game aswell.

I don't see the point in re-using and updating the same systems all over again. Budokai Budokai Tenkaichi, Burst Limit, Raging Blast are all great games for their own. If newer games are just becomming copies, I would just prefer them to make special editions instead of a new game wich plays different. It is also so that most people don't buy special editions only because of the same game system and gameplay. Let's hope for a great new game with a new, great unique system wich will be a good for our collections there.

A lot of games take good things from previous games that work and update it and\or fix problems with it. There is plenty of points to reusing systems.
Please no luck game or tag team tenkaichi type of gameplay. Tenkaichi and Budokai fighting system were the only where you could actually have some fun trying to combo (though it might cost you the button you use for guard when doing budokai combos )From the first screen shot, I am really wondering if it is like something like you going into memories of z fighters since that one "Create character" just standing there seems awkward O.o.

Well quite frankly they're right to be skeptical. The tenkaichi series and spinoffs have plagued and probably killed DBZ games because they become stale and offer very little in terms of innovation.

Wow -- suddenly this game looks massive.From the looks of it, there's a slew of characters (many never before seen), and a mode where you select planets to fight random baddies.All things considered (Dimps), I can honestly say I'm looking forward to a new DBZ game. It's been a long fucking time.
Yeah no, that's Dragon Ball Heroes (and its latest video game version, Ultimate Mission 2). The (Japan-only) arcade video game that uses physical cards. The video title does say (in Japanese) that these are two different games, but the English article doesn't point it out, so it looks weird.So far, Xenoverse is only the future guy and future Trunks with that black outfit from the Online game that had time travel and time cops. Though it's not impossible that Xenoverse finally uses the original stuff from both Online and Heroes (that expanded on Frieza's race, the Majins, the Nameks, the cyborgs, humans with Saiyan genes...) and it would be about damn time, seeing how far Heroes has gotten with all the expansions and how fast, it looks like people love it in Japan.

This is not realy a "new" outfit for Trunks, it's outfit of Time Patrol Trunks from Dragon Ball Online so it's possible that we might get Time Patrol Trunks as a separate char in this game.About the new char, it looks for me like a Fusion somehow gone wrong. =/

dbo and db heroes had some neat alternate designs for characters.in heroes you could make androids ,freeza like characters, buu based characters, sayans and nameks as playables.it also had female heroines which is a long time coming tbh.

DBO doesn't have "more" than human/Namek/Majin races though, so the androids and Cold from DBH are still the more obvious guesses.Didn't see those DBO character portraits before (except the class image).... It's actually odd that they would take so much from DBO, wasn't DBO made by Koreans or Chinese ? While DBH was made by Bandai, so it would be easier to reuse what they already made, instead of redoing something someone else did. Hopefully it's a merge. The Online stuff just came along with Time Patrol Trunks.

Even with more races, this has a DBO reference with updated graphics. Also yes, I would like to see this Game have different fighting modes aswell such as a versus (like capcom crossovers) and a RPG mode.

What I mean is that it would be Great to see it have a mode like a 2d fighting game but with 3d renders like Capcom's Tatsunoko VS Capcom for example. It is indeed a fighting game but think about the missions, RPG mode included with cutscenes in Infinite World. It isn't going to happen, just something that would be Great to see in Game.

I looked at the screenshots and I noticed something, you can see on them the classic scene with Goku, Raddiz and Piccolo using the "Special Beam Cannon" (thats the English name right?) on them, but Raddiz escapes the attack and only Goku get's killed, that could be the reason for the time travel stuff, maybe some event of the original story go terrible wrong because of the new Bad guys, and you have to fix it with the original char, or it could be just a failed quick time event.^^What do you think guys?
Dude, that's the WHOLE premise of the game. Whenever you see somebody with red eyes it means that something has changed in that particular event. That's only one of the several plot changes you're supposed to fix.

Nah, that's definitely the story point, this scene is critical to the story and is never part of the gameplay so there'd be not point in showing a gameplay element in this scene. Bad guys are changing what happened in history and you're here to restore it, hence the various scenes where we saw the custom hero save the day in the first batches of screenshots.
The link: Extended trailer with a bunch of custom characters of all the races (designs from both DBO and DBH, so - plus a bunch of hair designs for the humans). And some "walk in a city" RPG-like gameplay.#17-#18 tag combo with #18 kicking you, doing a flip and grabbing your hand to pull you into #17's kick, wow. Also, Slug's costume is in, I guess that confirms the movies.
Yeah, seems like a really good game. I will still wait for other people's review when it comes out before buying, but so far I have good expectations for this.
So does this mean we can fix all the mistakes with GT?Budokai 3's got me preferring the red Kamehameha to the blue for SSJ4. But still, it's nice to see SSJ4 Goku make it in. And of course, yay for Vegito, and none of that bonus DLC nonsense tied to him. Now just waiting for Super Saiyan God.

Collection's Edition comes with unique Trunks statue, pre-ordering comes with SSJ4 Vegeta, gold/crystal Frieza solider armor for customization and a metal casing for physical copies. Pre-order stuff won't be sold at a later point.Shiny armor I can give or take to not show up again, skipping a whole character seems a bit excessive though. Plus it'd be really weird if SSJ4 Gogeta's in the game and normally obtainable, but Vegeta isn't.
YO....i really want to ask my fellow PS3 owners here if you got a random message from PSN in the their inbox on the beta test voucher code of this game...I got that shit but it didnt work. Well, this one is being developed by the same devs who were behind the Budokai series so it's bound to be good. I too ignored pretty much every DBZ game since Tenkaichi (And those weren't even that bad, I just disliked them. The rest of the games were pretty much garbage though).
