Hello everyone, newcomer here.
I've been playing around with mugen for some time, but never actually did something serious with it, and i doubt i ever will.
I began this project out of serious pixel annoyance, and i know some people may not like it, because upscaling algorithms may not look very pleasant, but to me they are way better than looking at huge pixels.

Hope you like it.

GAMEPLAY:
no code has been touched

OTHERS:
- Character sprites upscaled using xBRZ 2x algorithm. (effect sprites untouched)
- Sprites realigned and hitboxes resized (automated process. may have bugs).
- Character sprites optimized (smaller sff than the original).
- Improved basic color palettes and changed from sff to the externals defined by def file.
- The last of his ultimates fixed for wide screen (i hope).
- Based on POTS 2010 update.

KNOWN BUGS (already existed before, not my fault):
- Some of his ultimates create misaligned/glitched afterimages.
- His AI may randomly stop doing anything for some time.
- His AI misses many combos because of wrong timings.

================================================================

DISCLAIMER:
I am not a mugen developer and my knowledge is fairly limited, so there might be bugs.
I have no plans to maintain this release nor to further improve it for now.
I made this because of my personal preference regarding pixels.
There is a certain debate on whether we should use upscaling algorithms because they might deform the original sprites to a certain extent and might make it look ugly or weird, yet some people will rather see a certain level of weirdness than having to put up with huge pixels all over the place specially when playing on high resolutions.

I think this character deserves a full remake from scratch in HD quality. This is all i can do for it right now.
I hope you guys enjoy and i do plan on making more upscaled characters to fight the pixel war.
MUGEN deserves more quality! No more pixels!

Depending on your feedback and interest i might write a guide on upscaling in the near future.

Thanks

- Timo

They look blurry. That's probably the worst algorithm you could have used.

Have you tried HQ2X? That's probably one of the best-looking filters I've ever used.

You talk about fighting the pixel war, but what do you think upscaling does? Adds MORE pixels lol. It's just ironic is all. I'm on the side that would rather look at the original pixels than blurry, filtered sprites which look worse than the originals. I've never really seen a character that was filtered that looked good. In any case, Dragon Claw was modeled and rendered to look 2D in the end. The only way you would do it justice is by getting the source files of the model, which isn't going to happen. I can't see someone going over each one of his frames to make it HD as there are many.

Did you upscale him with xBRZ?

Is finding MUGEN to be more enjoyable to play when you're not wearing clothes an underrated opinion?

Oops, ma b.

Yea xBRZ is the best scaling filter out there that I've seen. HQs aren't far behind either.  I think just about anyone would be hard pressed to do a better scaling job than this.  I mean I understand a lot of people aren't fans of filtered characters, most filters suck ass.  But done well like this, I'm into it.  Nice job.
