Drum & Bass never really sparked something special with me in the past. I can't put a name to the songs I've heard over the years but from what I remember, they all sounded carbon-copied. The only person that came close to getting me interested in it was Aphex Twin (which isn't really DNB. Just real chaotic, unorganized noise. Sweet chaotic noise..)Well, a good friend of mine started talking about good and bad DNB, why Roni Size sucks, etc. etc. and sure enough, he put me on to some nice DNB cats. For example:- Current Value- Apex- Tech Itch- Panacea- 0=0- Gein- Black Sun Empire- Breakage- High RankinDiscuss DNB shit here
The only song I know from Roni Size is Brown Paper Bag, and I know this, because alot of TV adverts in the UK used the song. Aphex Twin have a good catalog of songs, from Windowlicker to 4. Aphex Twin will fall into the same catorgory as Future Sound Of London and Orbital, with another good genre called Ambient.I listen to alot of Music genres, So I would come across some good Drum & Bass artists, I've come across- Pendulum - Sub Focus- Noisia- DJ Starscream- Evol Intent- Black Sun Empire (as you mentioned)- John B- Calyx
