Eeveelution Desktop [My First Stage]

Something made the file corrupted on esnips. Try this new link.
Edit: Instead of the original 6 ticks per all sprites, I've made it now with 60 ticks (1 second) on Eevee and 180 ticks (3 seconds) on it's evolutions.

Inspired by Windows Vista Desktop stage.
I used the backgrounds from konachan.com so credits to whoever made them.

Edit: I uploaded a better quality video this time.

This is the first stage that I ever made. I wasn't too knowledgeable on getting transparencies for stage sprites nor was able to find a good tutorial on how to cut and tile your images for reduced color loss. I ended up just making three big animations using the RGB method of reducing color loss through the use of photoshop. Using this method, of course there is going to be that problem where it shows a black or white screen when certain characters do their specials.

Please respond back with feedback. Any good tutorials for transparencies and tiling also appreciated. Using the RGB method alone, I was limited to what I initially wanted to do.

Looks soo cute!  :nice: As soon as I get my computer back I'll download it.

EDIT after watching vid: the way the background rapidly changes is kinda distracting.

I'll either double the ticks or probably make each evolution last a little bit longer before going to the next one. Hopefully it won't be distracting.

Edit: Made The Eevee 60 ticks from the previous 6 ticks and the Evolutions 180 ticks from the previous 6 ticks.

It was definitely your Vista stage that made me want to create my own.

For future updates of the stage, I'll double the sprites so it'll be more fluid in the animation between Eevee and it's evolution. ATM it's going by 6 ticks per 10% fill in reduction. I'll make it go 3 ticks per 5% fill in reduction for next update and maybe fool around and try to make animations for the clock as well as some gadgets at the top right of the stage to make it feel more like Windows Vista.

Now that it's no longer distracting...

Great job on your first stage!

It's much better than my stages. (*Looks at own stages* vgmaster2.0:  --;...)

Do you have an actual wallpaper like this, and if so, could you upload that? Beautiful stage, it's one of my favorites to play on!

I actually said where I got those wallpapers from my first post. Not to shamelessly advertise but I got them over from konachan.com. Basically it's an anime wallpaper site. They are originally widescreen 1680 by 1050 which fits my monitor however in the mugen game, I resized them in photoshop to 50% scale. Just type in the keyword "pokemon" and pretty much the majority of pokemon wallpapers there are the eevee sisters.

If you want to have one steady wallpaper for the mugen stage. In the .def file at the bottom where I list the animations. Delete all the animations coding. In the sprite coding, instead of using the first group "1" you can choose group "2-8" to replace the red sprite, green sprite and blue sprite. Each number from "2-8" are Umbreon, Glaceon, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, and Espeon in that order. Eevee is set at Group 1.
