ramble ramble==========Wow...I'm seriousy speechless. With the defunct Next Generation as a close second EGM was the best publication for gaming news in the 90s and the earlier part of this decade. I'm even more humble to have just about every issue they ever printed saved, with certain articles kept in scrapbooks. Steve Harris' baby tought me just about everything that I know about games. And even still, as shocked as I am, I sort of saw this coming. Getting the news online will eventually become the norm while physical prints will be the obsolete (for too many obvious reasons); give it some time, this will be the standard. Besides, I don't care too much for this generation's EGM review crew. They're on point with every other game journalist's cynnical ideology bestowed in their reviews (in more cases than it should, one-man reviews).EGM is out, GamePro is still in. WTF indeed. Well, at least there's Sore Thumbs and Kotaku.
I did not know that kotaku was a printed magazine, in which newstands/bookstores do they sell it, I never saw it in the ones at dallas ?
I agree with scruffy on this one. EGM is definitely not what it used to be. The second they moved and changed staff was the second they died. Nonetheless, I definitely liked how they appreciated artistic games more than others.Hopefully someone will pick up that trait :/

Man, EGM is going away? I'll miss then, even though I haven't read any new issues in years.I need to check up on Hsu and Chan.

Well I haven't read one in years, but I am still sort of sad to see it go. EGM has been a great read in the past, but online gaming sites are the new norm.No more Flux, GameFan, and now EGM. I suppose GamePro will be next.Damn, that's a good zine too. Oh well, progress must continue. At the least there's still Game Informer. (IMO the best)
I have never bought game magazines. I've always read online reviews and such because I can cross reference, research, etc.. Only when they bundled it with my EB discount card did I get the magazines. It's kind of sad really; technology advances and old methods fade away. I wonder if other magazine companies are to follow especially with the economy the way it is now. So long EGM and thanks for all the fish.
I have about a dozen issues from 5-8 years ago, and I thought it an pretty ok magazine. I definitely loved Hsu and Chan most out of everything there, though.
