I touched on this here a bit.
Now that I have admin access I can see a bit better how the boards, filter abilities, and tags are handled and understand how to set them up myself without Valodim.

I would like feedback to better improve the shared resources boards.

I have 2 ideas myself. Feel free to chime in if you have a suggestion.

Idea 1
Make a resources release board under Sprite Projects.

Remove Classifieds and put Resources Requests in the Help Category and make the current Request board a child forum.

Idea 2
Make resource release board under Sprite Prjects

Leave classifieds having the 2 request boards. 1 for resources and one for characters, stages, etc

In both ideas the Resources Release Boards would have icons and Filters

We would need to make some more filter tags for the following
Sprite Pack
Sprite Edits
Color Separation
Stage Sprites
Sounds
FX
Original Character/Conversions
Misc

Let me know if you can think of more tags and/or if I should rename a Filter.

This isn't set in stone, but I think moving the board so it is no longer a child board will make it used a bit more and the filters will make things simpler to find. Thoughts?

Maybe a separate Mugen 1.1 board or category?
Also, those tags sound like a good idea :)

Sent temp icons to Valodim while Titiln makes better icons. Seems I cannot use off site images after all =(

While making them I realized some should be combined/renamed and a few new should be added.












@titiln: I hope you haven't already made a lot that I may have slightly altered.

I'll try to tweak the fonts as soon as I can. Having a pc issue and can't boot right now. Same one I mentioned in staff. Valodim hasn't responded yet anyway.

Examples would be balthazar's DBZ characters, diepod's, Sean's characters, etc.

At first I called them original characters but DBZ characters are not original :p
Felo's Rose would be made from scratch. Characters that are mostly made without a base. Though if it's a new animation to an already sprited character it may be hard to classify. But I think I'd still call those edits.

Board is about to go live. Will slowly be moving threads from the old board over so for the time being there will be 2 boards but the old one will not allow new posts.
Almost finished updating the icons so they are easier to read. Val will have to update them. Also he still has to fix the names of the icons in the dropdown list.

I need to make an icon for Open Projects as well so we do not lose those threads (and maybe it'll be used a bit more as an icon! 10 years later and it still only has 2 pages worth of threads)

Board is live. I moved the most recent topics and made the old sprite/sound boards read only.

If you feel I gave your rips an incorrect icon feel free to change it to be more fitting. If you had multiple kinds of rips I either gave the icon for the most prominent or made it misc. You may make new threads to separate your characters from stages, and other rips if you wish so you can take advantage of the new filter icons.

Not necessary, you already moved all the threads from Shared Sprites and Shared Sounds to the new subforum :P

Also, I suggest an icon for Open Characters (beta/finished characters open source), maybe with another color like cyan, dark green or grey

That'll be the Open Projects Icon. I just totally forgot about that board when I was working on this. Should be up this week sometime along with the easier to read icons.
