Mr. White from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace is returning, and the plot description seems to hint that they're going to to wrap up the Quantum plot from those two movies (message from Bond's past) by folding it in with SPECTRE (maybe Quantum becomes SPECTRE, or something). Christoph Waltz's role was revealed to be the son of one of Bond's mentors, and rumors are that he is in fact Bloefeld, and will reveal himself in the movie.

with the stuff about shooting in the Alps, and Bautista's character looking like a classic henchmen, this movie really feels like a very cool throwback to the classic Bond movies; I'm pretty excited!!!

Trailer looks great but I still can't help feeling like Star Trek is the girl Abrams took to the prom but didn't really want to go with, and then he ditched it and left with Star Wars.

but I can't blame a ton of how those two Star Treks turned out on him; the weaker parts of the first and the absolute shittiness of the second all had to do with the writing, from that terrible screenwriting duo who wrote the Transformers movies and ruined the Spider-Man movies too. Maybe if Abrams had a better connection to the source material and was able to steer the script development into a better direction, things would've turned out better, but oh well, he's now with the franchise that fits him like a glove.

Hmmm, I worry that would feel redundant after Casino Royale (and Skyfall, since M was pretty much the Bond Girl in Skyfall).

Yeah, I really can't see them doing it in this movie; maybe they could bring in Tracy way down the line, after Craig (he has, I think, two movies left, and I can't imagine they'd end Craig's last movie on that cliffhanger). But in all honesty, I think we're a long way off before they start redoing stuff that's already been adapted.

Yeah, they've got all the tools in place to make this a classically structured Bond film (cold open, song, walk into the office, Moneypenny banter, mission from M, gadgets from Q, etc.) and I feel like they owe it to Craig and the fans to do at least one of those.

The end of the movie is practically the start of an old-school Bond movie; they can't build all that up and not pull the trigger!

All right, that's a pretty good choice! Edgar Wright's got a great eye for sci-fi; with the right script, I think he could do a movie that would be vastly more original than the previous two efforts.
