The transitional period of the beginning of the silver age was marked by them. Comics with flawed characters and a bit of drama, following more into science fiction than their pulpy forefathers. It kept many of those things that made pulp cool like exploration and families of scientists but it ended up being the cornerstone on which many of the modern comic books were based. From the shared universe and continuity to the very tropes that make so many of those movies and comics a success.

If Arrow is posted in this topic (instead of the DC cinematic universe thread), I assume Flash goes here too, I'm a bit lost between all the threads and subjects crossing each other.

A theory on Dr. Harrison Wells being Barry Allen stranded in time after failing to rescue his mother and waiting things out.
(ignoring the part where Wells coldly kills people when they threaten Barry's future) That's... an interesting idea, but I'm a bit confused on what to think of it. When they showed the 2024 newspaper, I was fearing they expected the series to run for 10 years and leave us waiting until then, but at least this theory would mean they could resolve it right at season 1 with Wells coming clean and solving the case. The concept itself is interesting, but it could so easily go wrong, so I'm not sure. Still, I want to trust the guys who pulled their head out of their ass to salvage Arrow fast enough (in spite of it still having numerous random woopsies every now and then), so I guess we'll see how they actually make it happen.

No better than a fan theory, not even a rumor. It has holes like Wells killing people which is extremely not Flash, but it's a rather interesting idea, I thought. Giving him a villain behavior could easily be a red herring... until the point where he kills people of course. It could still be going somewhere.
Oh, it's probably wrong too since a future Flash going back in time couldn't possibly have a newspaper from after the time when he disappeared (and went back in time). (but by the same reasoning he can't be Zoom either !) Still, it might be getting somewhere : we're at least practically certain he's from the future.

What a weird theory.

But no, Wells is Zoom. Wells is most likely Professor Zoom (Comes from a future where the Flash is one of the greatest heroes that ever lived) with Hunter Zolomon's motivation (make him a "better" hero by manipulating events around him).

I think Thawne will probably be the reverse (ba-dum-tish) - Hunter Zolomon (in that he's a contemporary of Barry that works with him and a friend, more or less) with Professor Zoom's motivation (fuck the Flash, I hate him).

I think they're both going to be the Reverse-Flash, although I think Thawne will be the one in the suit we see in the set pics and promo material.

I was not sure to put it in the board so I put it here (mods, be free to split into an own thread if necessary). Damn, I read various of his books when I was a child, adventures from space, fantasy, pirates... even he adapted Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Neverending Story into "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. its like a six page ad, seems like its more aimed at the japanese crowd than anything else. They managed to make pages and panels right to left and keep art direction left to right thus making it all the more confusing.

okay, if I'm a cop, Wells definitely jumped to the top of my list of suspects. He's the only one Joe told about his investigation, and right after telling Wells he's a suspect, then giving him time to clear his name, Zoom shows up for the first time in 14 years and threatens Joe ? That's just too obvious that he's connected one way or another or leaked the information somehow. That plot really needs to take a big step forward in the next episode, it can't stay like that even if daddy fears that his daughter gets threatened.
