Ever Look Back?

Movin like bernie.

I've been looking at some of my writing work from just 3 short years ago... and HOLEEEEEE CRAP. I knew how to write a good story but I had no idea how to WRITE a good story. Needless facts, randomness, and implausibility abounds! Anybody else have the same problem?

Most dangerous person in Mugen

I have the opposite problem. I look back and see someone who was much more productive. At least when it comes to Mugen. I'm sure a lot of the old timers here feel the same way.

Truth be told, it depends on how far I go.

Ten years ago? = Ashamed of most of it.

Five years ago? = Still too angry.

Three years ago? = Rough around the edges. Most of my ideas I still uphold, though.

Less than that? = 'Why was I even trying, and why didn't I just stick to MUGEN sooner?'

I remember nominating you for Contributor status since your stuff wasn't that noticed back then.

Looking back to posts around 4 years ago, WIP's I never actually really started, the way I typed.
It's just gross to see how I used to act.

If I can't be the best, I sure as hell can be the worst.

I've seen posts of mine on another forum from 2005-2006 that basically abused

and :3 and I don't know how I typed like that then.

I also look back sometimes at how I acted around these parts, especially 2009-2010, and to be totally honest, I'm ashamed at how much of a dick I was to a lot of people. However, what's done is done and there's probably no fixing it at this point.

I started trying to create own websites (with cms like wordpress and drupal) in 2011 and the first articles were really bad ..both the design and also how i wrote everything. I created fan art galleries and everything was without order, the images were there in different sizes, the big versions of them with 500 kb files and bigger pixelsizes were not changed / no "thumbnail" versions added and so the loading times were super slow too. Took a while to learn such stuff, and currently i am erasing and updating the older parts of my website. Looking at them hurts :-)

When I first joined this site a long time ago I used very poor grammar and was young. I can see how much my grammar and attitude has changed from my old posts. Good to get back into Mugen.

I do on, on occasion - I still even have a Mugen folder on this comp, though I never use it. I've gotten into Doom modding recently, and you'd be surprised how similar it is to making Mugen content (SLADE feels a lot like Fighter Factory because of this, minus the rampant bugs). Hopefully I'll eventually get back to it, though it's gonna be a while.
