@#Shaun : You don't know me, but some other people can tell you that I often give feedback when a character gets released, unless it's complete shit and I don't feel like saying anything.

As for me, I downloaded the character yesterday, but as I'm at work, I haven't had the time to test it, as many other chars/stages. Plus, I do have priorities in life as well as in my mugen tests.

So no, I'm not saying that out of the 400 views, there aren't any leechers... there are at least 350, that's for sure. But you can't expect to come out of almost nowhere (without a WIP topic), not known (people know POTS or KFM better than you) and expect to have 10 replies full of feedback in the 10 next hours.
(Plus, your char is not one of these full-screen effect CVS chars with God Orochi in their name, which n00bs seem to love nowadays...)

Anyway, expect feedback from me in the next two days...

It doesn't matter.  Yeah, I'm a little pissed that stereotypical japanese chars (naruto and other garbage like that) get quick reviews within hours and mine didn't.  So sue me (or flame me - you know you're gonna).

Evil Lucky had some minor improvments done to him last night, and I'll put a few more in today.  I'll reupload tomorrow (I'm at the library). For the others who have him....I'd recommend trashing him (yeah, I know that'd mean I'd have to wait longer for feedback). 

 I dunno why I even got worked up about this.  Enjoy him or don't, but I'll upload a better beta tomorrow.

u could put in a shungokusatsu with the basketball where if it hits you it turns crazy and starts beating you up then the ball turns around and it says evil on its back.

I'm hoping that was either sarcasm of a joke, cause just no --;

On-topic: the idea seems nice cause lord knows SNK didn't do much with the USA team at all (why reissue the team in a later KoF with the SAME moves --;...oh wait nm the didn't even bother) Though someone made a point earlier...why is it that he's evil now? is there an origin or something in a readme with him or are there clues in some win quotes or maybe even an intro and ending? I think there should be something to explain the "evil" intent...otherwise he's just another 'God' 'Evil' 'Orochi' 'Shin' char that'll get lost in obscurity  :-\... this is of course my opinion

Im sure some are leechers but im sure there are people like me.

I view a topic, look at the screen shots and decide if i am going to d/l or not. If I do not like the char I keep it moving, i just exit the topic.

Like the guy said previous, and if I do, I need time to test it out, probably a day or two.

We'll when you put the link back up, i'll test it for you.

But don't let 'leechers' get you down, if they leech your work they obviously enjoy it.

#Shaun, I don't think you realize this:

400 views and no replies not necessarily mean that all of them are leeching. Just a majority of them. So before you get any real feedback on a mugen release expect to get tenfold that many leechers. It's just how the internet is.

Just so you'd know (and I would be a greater jerk to NOT tell you this) your characters are not really that interesting to me. Pretty much it looks like this: Change in pallete, change in coding, change in sprites. If you are learning on how to go make better things I would be more than happy to help you out. But if you are like shazzo then expect noone to care.

You know why people don't take evil, shin, orochi, lvl #, dark, and omega characters seriously? Because they have already seen it. This is just that it with a twist on it.

Personally I'd go team with a sprite artist to make a simple striking character (that is easy to code), a projectile character (something harder to code) and then a grappler (the hardest to code).

its looks good but i think its not hard enough to be called Evil or even Powerfull/Accurate Enought to be called Lucky neither sry on that.

I don't get the concept of the character at all. You may want to build a story to explain the crowd, strikers and his techniques, because he's really odd. That being said, let's go on with the feedback :

- Small and big portrait have wrong colors.
- Big portrait is misaligned by one pixel y-wise.
- Missing required sprites.
- Missing required animations.
- Why in hell is he doing a kick in his stance anim ? Makes no sense !
- Did you get authorization for Evil Ken's sprites ?
- It's usually bad to have sprite styles clash : SFZ Evil Ken + CVS Vega + KOF style = :no: Rather stick with SVC Violent Ken and Vega to keep the same graphical style.
- The stance CLSN boxes usually stay the same during all the animation.
- No crouching strong punch and kick ?
- Both crouching punches have misaligned sprites.
- Why does he do a punch before his QCF+x/y/z ? Plus I suppose the damages are not implemented correctly yet.
- Opponent can recover from QCF+x/y/z. Is this done on purpose ?
- It's strange that he kicks also before his QCB+a/b/c, but it at least makes a bit more sense.
- His QCB+a/b/c has retarded attack CLSNs IMO.
- QCB+x/y doesn't have right damage yet, has it ? He punches before performing it, making it look very strange. Finally, why not sticking with the usual QCFx2 or QCBx2 for supers.
- Many hitpauses and velocities don't feel right for now, you should work on them.

Will you use Lucky's normal voice, or will you use a custom one ?
Missing envshake too, but that's the final work.

Just an FYI: Evil Lucky is back online for download, and has been revised.

There isn't a huge story for this character yet (there will be one though - anyone who downloaded my Lexi char noticed a black version of Shermie....I kinda have something in mind for all three as a story....kinda along the lines of m.bison's psycho driver.  G-Mantle...well, let me get the char up to code before I start on a story!).  Anyway, that's not what's most important.  I was basically putting in features that may or may not be cool but while I still work on him, a lot of sprites will be thrown out.

I still can't figure out why the hell he won't go into his intro/win/lose(time over) animations, when clearly there ARE animations for it.  Help anyone?

I'm aware of some missing sprites and whatnot.  It's still a beta.  I should stress that to anyone d/l this char and expecting it to go balls out in AI.  I'm not there yet....still cranking out the minor and WTF-type bugs, and any feedback/help is appreciated.

In terms of "asking" permission, I sent him an email a while ago. Virtually all sprites used in mugen are already licensed by third-party companies with more power than all of us combined, and to ask permission from someone who has ripped them with no real authority of is kinda  :-\.  Still, I know Reu went into a lot of customization for EK, so it only felt right to respectively ask.

I'm not setting any rules in terms of SVC/CVS styles.  A striker is a striker.  Still, thanks for the input.  Now, delete the lucky you already have and redownload the 1.1.5 beta....again (please)...there's some new stuff!

 :D Shaun ur doing great work, i see alot of potential in your characters. I wish i had the patience to code  :-\. I think instead of calling him "Evil" Lucky, just call him Pissed off Lucky, or Not so Lucky. "evil" is played out. It would be real sick if u can code Lord Raptor / Zabel off of Darkstalkers, "Hell Dunk" move. OH, and maybe the basketball projectile's could be fireballs that resemble basketballs, and code one of those portable basketballs racks that they use to practice free throws with, in the background. Hes gunna be sick when hes done  ;D. keep up the good work.
