Few Mugen Problems I'm having!!!

Hey guys, I'm just about done my mugen project. But I'm having a few issues.

1) My game over screen won't work. When I'm beaten in survival mode, it goes straight to the results, and then back to the main menu. And yes, I do have it checked and avtivated but it just won't show up in the game. So I can't really figure out what the issue is.

2) I'm using that ingame announcer Common1.cns file in my game. Everything is good, but one problem. When I load an image into my fight.sff, it doesn't show up in the game. EX. When I do a 3-hit combo and the ingame announcer says "yes", the image "Yes" slides by for a second, then goes away. So I upload the image in my .sff and test it out, it doesn't work. I even tryed taking an image out of the .sff itself and pasting "yes" over the image. But when I do that, it losses it's color or it won't transparent the background color; and yes I have kept the BG color the same as every other color in the .sff. So I'm not really getting how the whole .sff act color editing thing works. It's kind of annoying lol.

3) Nothing to major, but I'm having trouble getting this stage to work. When I load it up, it says theres an error in the .sff file. I even put it through the dos2win but it still won't work. Just wondering if anyone can fix this for me. I'd really be appriciated. Thanks in advance!

The gameover screen should still go up after the results. I've tested it out on a fresh mugen game, and it worked.
I just don't get why it won't work on mine. But no, in survival there is no continue screen. Just results, gameover, then main menu.

OFF TOPIC
Are these issues really that hard to figure out? I need a little more support here. Please help me!!!

hmmmm well im about to go to sleep since its like 3:30 am but lets see

1.) if it worked on a fresh copy, theres probably something in the screenpack conflicting with it, what screenpack do you use?

2.) a couple of things, what program do you use, I recomend the latest Z-CharCAD if your not already, for importing images into your .sff file.  never the less, when you import pictures into .sff files they must be in .pcx format, and must be in the indexed color format, if you use photoshop you can change images from RGB to indexed in a flash.  also with indexed color the last color in the color table is the one that will be transparent in the game.

I think you might not be changing the image to indexed color before uploading it to the .sff and if thats so then thats the reason its not showing up in the game.

3.) ok since you used dos2win on it, im going to ask you to get a fresh copy and then open the .def file in notepad, scroll down to "spr = stages\MS-Train.sff" and change that "\" to a "/" yes changing the slash key is probably what the problem is.  i had a few stages that were giving .sff problems and it was because the wrong slash key wasnt allowing the game to read it.

I can help you better tommoro when im not falling asleep :P

  • You gotta eat to live.
For your second issue are you using fighter factory to insert images.

If so after you insert an image, and before you save your sff, goto Sprites -> Convert all to 256. When it finishes click save.
