I work for a brazilian company and there are about 12 Brazilian guys here (all the managers, pretty much), so YOU BET YOUR ASS we're gonna watch the games in the office.

Yeah, wonderful draw for the Americans.. [/sarcasm]

I don't see the USA getting out of the Group Stage. Germany is... well, they're still Germany. Which means they're still good. Ronaldo will do everything in his power to make sure Portugal doesn't lay an egg and Ghana reminds me of Cameroon in the '90 World Cup.

since this event would be broadcasted past midnight here in our part of the world, I'm sure public services are going to be worse for the whole month.

Geez... it has been almost two years since we had those beers.
Time flies.

Regarding the World Cup, I hope Brazil gets eliminated at the first round or at eights of finals at most.
This way I and many clients of mine will lose less money due to having to stop production so employees can watch the bloody games, or with employees simply skipping work the Brazil games days.

I never wanted this bloody World Cup here in Brazil. It is proving WAY too costy to my wallet.

Most of the teams are shit, including Argentina which was Brazil's most powerful rival long time ago, so yeah... Brazil is going to make it into the finals.
pls

Is it me, or your one of the few brazilians who actually dislike/hate football? Correct me if I'm wrong.

In all honesty, I don't expect much of my country. So, I say early exit for them. I still will watch the games from the AFC teams, they're my black horses.

it's not about hating football it's about the economic backlash that brazil is suffering because of the world cup

how?
international tourists in festive mode don't care don't count to spend their $$$, other than people who work to clean public toilet, I don't see how such event would hurt businesses.

Factory lines will stop, costing millions, if not billions, work days will be cut short, costing millions too.
And the whole thing cost us 14 billion USD in government money that we will end up paying with higher taxes, while pretty much nothing of the said World Cup legacy was completed. High speed train between Rio and São Paulo? In your dreams.
Several new airports? No such thing.
Improvement to old airports? What are you talking about?
Accessibility project? I have no idea what you mean with that.

This is an economic tragedy. And the fucking stadia aren't ready yet. Today the IT on the Arena Corinthians won't work during the game.
Wifi for the reporters? HAHAHAHA! Ethernet? Good luck with that. 3G? No way. 4G? You better pray for your gods.

And we had 7 years to prepare...
Also, with the tourists, I am paying way more for the cost of living. Food and services are far more expensive since the start of the month.

I have more than enough reasons to be pissed with this whole thing.

Well, on the internet/media many people like to act like a critic. I'm not a huge fan of soccer. I barely watch 5 minutes in a year. LOL
But for some reasons I like the world cup. I don't expect much from the Brazilian team after the last two shameful world cups. But here we are. I'll watch the game hoping to at least the victory (1x0/ 2x1).
