Hello am new to mugen and I have learned quite alot within the first 2 weeks of putting together my MGame.

I was just wondering is it possible within the select screen to have the fighting stance of the characters (like the mortal kombat games)? If so could someone send a link to a tutorial or could someone please tell me here, would be alot of help.

Thanks  ;D

Not possible to my knowledge - although I would love to be corrected if i'm wrong  ;P

How many characters does your screenpack have? If you really want to give it a go you might be able to do it through the cursor lol but it would more than likely look terrible.

If you think you're up to doing it, take a look at this thread

That's the technique Kira showed me for my project, you should be able to achieve what you want with it

Hope this helps - have fun!

(Alternatively - if you're not after animation just change each characters big portrait to a picture of them in stance)

its not that difficult, really.  I'm actually doing that myself. Instead of a headshot for a portrait, I'm using the fighting stance of each character so you can actually see what they look like in game on the select screen. What I do is open the character's .sff file in fighter factory, go to sprites, scroll to whatever frame you like the character in, save it as a pcx, then use the magnifying glass to locate sprite 9000, 1  (this is the portrait used for that character in the select screen), and use the "change" button to essentially swap the portrait for the character frame in the fighting stance.  Then click save .sff and that character now has his fighting stance as his portrait. Of course, you may need to jog the position of the character's portrait in Fighter Factory a bit to get it centered.
