Hey, everyone.  What I have here is a quick and dirty patch for Hiram Yagami's Neo Geegus.  Not sure if he was ever updated to fix all the problems he had or if someone ever released their own patch (AI patch doesn't count).

I'm not a genius when it comes to MUGEN scripting.  I dabble just enough to make edits that, though unsophisticated, get the job done.  This edit definitely needs some refining so if you have any recommendations to make or would like to continue the edit, then by all means...

I don't think this character is online anymore (at least not officially).  I'm sure you can find him via Google or Esnips or whatever else you use for finding MUGEN characters.

Anyway, here's a copy-and-paste of what I have in the Read Me file:

EDIT:  It has come to my attention that an update to Neo Geegus has been released and is being hosted so the only thing I'm leaving up for the time being is the patch, which should be updated in the near future to work with the new Neo Geegus.

Quote
Changes made:

Edited cns and cmd files so that supermoves can only be performed with the
required super bars and so that power is actually drained.  Also reduced damage
of specials and supers.  Zeus's megaton punch can no longer be used on a dizzy
opponent.  That kusari2 special can't juggle the opponent 3 times anymore.
That Jazu special attack can't be used to juggle the opponent indefinitely
anymore.  Attack commands were fixed.

Edited air file to reduce the red clsn box of the Krauser super and to increase
the distance for Leona's dash attack as well as reducing the red clsn box size
of a newly added crouching C attack, which still needs tweaking (any advice?)

Installation:

I recommend keeping the files in the folder and putting the whole folder in
the NeoGeegus folder.  Then in the def folder, just replace

cmd =        NeoGeegus.cmd    ;Commands
cns =        NeoGeegus.cns    ;Constants
st =         NeoGeegus.cns    ;Basic states
anim =       NeoGeegus.air    ;Animation

with

cmd =        NGPatch/NeoGeegus.cmd ;NeoGeegus.cmd    ;Commands
cns =        NGPatch/NeoGeegus.cns ;NeoGeegus.cns    ;Constants
st =         NGPatch/NeoGeegus.cns ;NeoGeegus.cns    ;Basic states
anim =       NGPatch/NeoGeegus.air ;NeoGeegus.air    ;Animation

FYI:

Update and edit as much as you want.  It'd be nice to be mentioned in the
acknowledgements, though...

Seems nice, but I think you should provide a link to the original char too.

Woops, I left out a part of the Read Me file that says the character is off line (as far as I know).  The guy's site is just... gone.

Well... I could always link to an Esnips page.  But people don't always react nicely to the mere mention of Esnips...

I mean, this character was around for at least a few months, long enough for someone to release an AI patch.  I'm sure there are some people out there who have this character.

It was actually through use of the AI patch, which fully exploited this character's flaws, that I realized how unusable this character was.  It doesn't help that the scripting seemed inconsistent.  Sorta like a patchwork of stolen, or borrowed, code.  They were relatively simple flaws so I thought I'd just correct them because the character overall seemed pretty cool.

Well, you CAN release the fully edited char @ the Edits section here. Is the author traceable? Maybe you could even ask for permission.

Yes, I think it's the best choice.

Well, here's the creator's site:  http://groups.msn.com/CLANYAGAMIEXTREME/_whatsnew.msnw

Once you go there, you'll see what I mean when I say the character's offline.   :P

I can't find any more information about this guy anywhere, including his e-mail.  Should I just host this Neo Geegus edit at my site anyway?  ???

Why not?

If he is gone, u aren't doing nothing wrong.
If he come back u can always talk with him.

Nice work, Dr Zaius!  ;P

Some little feedback... I dunno if you are willing to fix that...

 - Iori (02) Hyper Move LVL 2 does not K.O. p2 (!  :S)

 - Geese Howard Hyper Move LVL 3... the uppercut needs a hitsound

If I get more feedback on things to change, I'll update the character with a fix to that Iori Hyper Move glitch.  For the time being, you can correct it yourself!  :sugoi:

Just open the cns file and perform a search for this:
Code:
[State 810, 1]
type = TargetLifeAdd
trigger1 = AnimElem = 7
trigger2 = AnimElem = 12
trigger3 = AnimElem = 16
value = -110
kill = 0
Replace "kill = 0" to "kill = 1" and you should be good to go.

As for the Geese Howard hyper hitsound... I'm hearing a sound effect.  It's a little soft but it's there.

Iori (02) Hyper Move LVL 2 is working fine now!  :sugoi:

 - Still (maybe I´m deaf, dunno  ;)) I can´t hear a hitsound on Geeses uppercut in his Hyper Move LVL 3  o_O. If he kills/k.o. p2 with the uppercut, then I can hear one...

 - I have a hard time getting the d,df,f,d,db,b Hyper Moves to work... (and I usually don´t have problems with those sort of commands)

 - Same applies to the d, u moves...

I use the keyboard to pull off these moves and in my experience, charge moves on characters in MUGEN are always difficult to pull off.  For some reason, they come out easier if I pull it off in a two-in-one combo.  Like, crouching jab and then the special attack.  The SNK-style QCF QCB supers can also be problematic.  I typically just pull off the move as if it were instead Down then HCB.  It may or may not help to open the CMD file and change the command from ~D,DF,F,DF,D,DB,B to ~D,F,D,B.

Rugal (02) Hyper Lv-2 does not connect at all...  :S

He updated all his chars so you might want talk with him if you seek his approval. You might want try updates too.

Wow, he actually updated his character shortly after I released a patch.  What a crazy coincidence.  Neo Geegus seems to have new moves.  I guess he could still use a patch but now it'll be even MORE useless.   :P  I'm going to take down the edited character and update the patch later.

Works for me all the time.  I can even catch falling opponents with it.   :uneasy:
