hello everybody for people getting lag and slowdowns in mugen 1.0.  The screenpack i use is the ares ax screenpack it holds up to 6000 slots and it uses very little resources and its not heavy. This screenpack used to be winmugen only but he updated his screenpack to 1.0. I use the latest 1.0 rev, and everything is pretty much fullspeed including stages that are heavy. the resolution i use is 860 X 720. my roster is very huge also.
I this helps people that are trying to acceptable speeds.

and yes i know 1.0 is only software based ;D

Thank you for your great wisdom. But I've never heard of such a screenpack. It's usually bad palette management that slows down screenpacks, stages, and characters.

Could this possibly be re-zipped and uploaded to a different hosting service? I don't trust eSnips, Lol. But I really want to try this for myself to see if you're right. However, I run my Mugen in Safe Mode due to my computer having problems in general in Normal Mode, so I hope you're right!

EDIT * -  Found the right link. Tested it:
He's right. Even in the condition my computer is in, the standalone screenpack he has shown really is fast and less laggy in every way. Me being in Safe Mode, MUGEN runs much faster then normal and stages and characters don't stop in the middle of a fight either. This screenpack doesn't lag at all.

yep its a fully customizable screenpack at that. I take no credit for this screenpack i was just browsing and came up on it. Good to job to the creater of this screenpack.

ive tried the newer screenpacks such as nwo and others as well there very flash and looks awesome, but they lag my computer alot. My computer is a gaming computer at that.

in all honesty mugen 1.0 is fast and crushes winmugen in every way. The only downfall of mugen 1.0 is that it doesnt utilize video drivers yet. mugen 1.0 is cpu software based so in order for mugen 1.0 to run at fullspeed you would need a good cpu. running in software mode increases compatibility at the price of performance. how ever there is a work around to achieve higher speeds thru mugen cfg file. The screenpack i mentioned isn't flashy like the newer ones but i will  take performance over eye candy anytime

truth be told as long as mugen 1.0 is software based its limited to what it could do.

I never really  thought that there was screenpack that  really handles software mode as good as this one.
