free flight system

Does any one know how to make a simple free flight system…
I want it keep all the old moves, and simpaly allow the user to move up down left and right in the air, without being able to go off the top or bottom of the screen (and perhaps a custom flight animation)

also, a means of disabling it with a button combination would be nice XD but i reckon it should be simple enough sort that...

yeah, but thats too simalar too land movement(plus my charra cept going off the screen XD)
is theis somthing that allous 4 directional movement in the air?
