lol, it's obvious they were going for a more "real" look than capcom crossovers or any other flashy game. That's why it doesn't use hitsparks or any other kind of fx.

Now, if they were going for a "real" look, why couldn't i compare the reactions of a person being hit in the game with the ones in reality?

Please if you response make a post longer than one phrase.

mmh, but we're arguing about physics, hit/reaction, not about "lol k' can throw flames, rediculouz, that's not real", "lol shamsho is so inaccurate to reality 'cos people gets cut but nothing happens"

Yes, but they clearly weren't going for realism. And you're asking the impossible of a game that's not a even attempting simulation. A cartoon, movie, or any other medium that strives toward that threshold already takes leaps in animation/physics balancing in order to get as close as they do. Let's not forget that above all this is a game. I'm not placing a statute of limitations on how far they'll go in the future, but consider the difficulty and expense of such a task (let alone an engine that could handle it consistently while running on a game console (oh man, online? yeah the fuck right), the relatively small (though again growing) market for fighting games, and among that crowd the amount of people who would realistically play a true simulation fighting game. Grow up.

you obviously lack reading comprehension abilities, dude . . . i just said the physics were bad (who the fuck talked about fighting games market?)for a game that was developed since quite some time already. Hits have no impact, and you can't deny it. It's not a matter of a better engine or whatever BTW

And as I was saying in my original post, AS COMPARED TO WHAT. Apply it in general, and your bias holds no weight. Just because the game doesn't have OMG effects doesn't mean it's going to be fucking realistic, no matter how much so it looks to be. The Physics engine WORKS. That's what it does. Just because you can't suspend your disbelief enough to accept it at face value, doesn't make it bad.

It feels like the characters are surrounded by an invisible bouncy cotton shield when they hit each other.
That's how i described the physics in that game, care to share your view?

Although I'm not big in the MvC2 scene need to correct the pringles comment and things related to it.  It's a reference to "Once you pop the fun don't stop" and Magneto's crouching fierce launcher leading into his infinite since it both popped them up and was in an unscrewing pattern.

I have many names,
Chrisis X is my current sig :P

Why the fuck does the Tekken part have a Virtua Fighter 1 fight ?

Sometimes I don't get why KOF freaks don't like Virtua Fighter because "it's too technical". I could understand if they said they didn't like the graphics, or the physics, but come on, the "technicality" of the fights is what makes it interesting, same as KOF.
Only difference is that you need one day or two to start enjoying a char in KOF, while you rather need one month or two with VF. :P Bleh, take Pai, Jacky or the monk, and start mashing the buttons. ;P

My main game has always been KoF. That being said, I hate the physics in Virtua Fighter, and even the hit detection. I always thought KoF was one of the most technical 2d fighters so technicality was never an issue for VF, it just plain doesn't feel right. And if they were going for realism in any game then I expect a complete absence of juggles (which I don't really care for to begin with). I liked the list in general but it seemed way to rushed and misguided.

  • Somebody PM when Caddie is no longer a mod.
The reason I didn't like tekken was because of button mashers. Kof had a simliar problem but once you learned all the moves button mashers were destroyed.

VF was just slow in the response.

Soul Calibur is the banana, and Dead or Alive is the cherry.
Mortal Kombat is the rotten tomato.

So is DOA (Unless you're a DHURR HURR FANSERVICE DHURR ITAGAKI SUX type of guy)

And VF sucks, techincal my ass you can button mash and win (Then again, the same goes for Tekken, DOA, Soul Calibur, but hey, at least those have a charm)

Also, Bushido Blade (1 & 2) FTW, I'd kill for a next gen Bushido Blade... same for a proper Next Gen Toshinden (Art by Tsukasa, and some returning characters... none of that Wii Toshinden faggotry)
