Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney Development at Climax
Quote

Level-5 and Capcom's long quiet crossover between Professor Layton and Ace Attorney made it back into the headlines today through some comments from Ace Attorney creator Shuu Takumi.

As part of a Famitsu.com dialogue between Takumi and Ace Attorney movie director Takashi Miike, Takumi said "Production on Layton vs Ace Attorney is at its climax. It's like my entire life is focused on it. While I still can't say much, it's progressing well, so please wait a bit more."

Yeah, great, it's almost done.  Now how about confirming a localization already?!  >:[

I knew this was gonna happen but god damn it, it still sucks how the hell do they expect it to play on a IOS anyway without redoing the battle system. I'll still buy it though and the new soundtrack.

This peeks my curiosity as well TWEWY was one of those games that I thought we'd never see on another console simply because it used nearly
every aspect that the DS had mainly the dual screens. It'll be interesting to see how they'll make it work on a touch only ios

or how they'll fuck it up which ever comes first.

I have droid and not iPhone so I'm screwed unless they suddenly go all "It's on 3DS too!", and even then I have to go get a 3DS.  >:(

It actually doesn't look like a bad port.

I was expecting filtered sprites and crippled content but this actually got effort in it. Those new sprites look awesome, higher quality sound is orgasmic, I don't know about the new Fusion Pin system but it doesn't look so bad. Hell, this thing even has the unused tracks from the japanese version.

Why is everyone bashing it so roughly? Oh right, BAAAWWWW IT'S NOT A SEQUEL.

highlight->Nevermind me, just venting my thoughts. This iOS port is getting more flak than it deserves for the wrong reasons.

It certainly looks like the sprites are filtered. :S

Well they put up a countdown with new remixes so it really seemed like it was gonna be a sequel. Squeenix got our hopes up and then pulled the rug under us.

I see what you did there. What I meant was that I expected the exact same graphics from the DS version passed through a filter. Obviously not the case here.

You've got yourself to blame there. "It really seemed" doesn't mean "It was going to be", people are hating on the product because they expected something that wasn't even promised. Just because you came out disappointed doesn't mean that the actual product is bad. From what I'm seeing, this is a nice port but it gets hate from people because it's not what they wanted even if that thing wasn't offered at all and because it's on a device they don't like.

I like to judge things on what they are and in my opinion this port is good news for any iOS user. At any rate, I'm fighting a battle I can't win. It's not like my opinion and views will change how people see this.

I'm not hating on the product itself, I'm just pretty disappointed it's not a sequel.

Just in time for the release of Borderlands 2, PlayStation Plus' "Instant Game Collection" will add the original Borderlands next month. The World Ends With You Director: A Variety of Other Things In the Works

Quote
Square Enix brought The World Ends With You back into the spotlight last week with the release of Solo Remix, an updated iOS port of the classic DS title. But the company's plans for the series do not appear to end there.

In Famitsu this week, TWEWY director Tatsuya Kando fielded a few questions to commemorate the iOS version's release. As a closing message, he said, "For those who were waiting for new developments for TWEWY, sorry to have kept you waiting. Solo Remix is a game with such a high level of completion that you won't feel that it's a port. If you play it and post Tweets to Twitter, the world will expand even further. We're working on a variety of other things, but first please enjoy Solo Remix."

iOS is out of the way so it can only be something good right?

That really makes me sad. I love Layton games, and specially the parts with riddles. It's sad that they're finally ending it.
