How do you guys make the .sff's (or I guess in most cases it would be update an existing one to replace sprites with color separated ones)? It can be done in a way that makes replacing the sprites trivial, if things are set up right.

The fastest way to import sprites into Fighter Factory is to import them, but importing only works well if the sprites are properly labeled and aligned according to the .ffe file*.
*The .ffe file is a file generated by Fighter Factory when an .sff file's sprites are extracted. The .ffe tells Fighter Factory how to arrange the sprites, how they should be aligned, what palette each sprite should use, etc.

If you are the one CSing the sprites it's best for you to use Fighter factory to export all of the sprites from the .sff to a folder and edit the sprites from there. That way when you're done everything is properly labeled and cropped and can be inserted into an .sff file in one click.

If you've received an edited sprite pack and want to input them into an existing character you'll likely have to input the sprites and palettes one by one yourself. If you ever decided to dedicate the time to input the sprites yourself individually then please feel free to share your work as many others would appreciate your effort.

For the Cammy one instead of making the Thighbands the skin color you should make it the leg paint color so it doesn't look weird.

I agree. Also, If you wanted to go for lol-accuracy-lol you could add in her grey arm band. I'm not saying that it would look better, but it's there and you could try it if you wanted.

After some thoughts I don´t feel like updating my pals so if anyone want to call dibs on them go ahead. If not, that´s good as well.

SMH I told myself "no more palettes" but then Quick had to dangle Cammy in front of me of all things.

Well you see I was already finishing up the .sff when I wrote that. I'm sorry if you may have already started working on it from your end, but I prefer you to use this one because it has small fixes to a few sprites that haven't been included in the released sprite pack yet.

Nah i didn't start it but i'll use this SFF.

I open the character in fighter factory export the sprite separate it then import it back into fighter factory.

Thanks for the Palettes guys

Ah, good, that's what I was gonna recommend. I personally use the "export as SprMaker" option, for easier editing of the sprite definition file (I usually end up changing something or the other in the coding process, and 'cause sprmake lets fine-tune various settings), but that's not really needed for these cases, I think. No need to figure out how to use sprmake or sff2turbo when you can do it all through Fighter Factory, after all.

Hmm, this makes me wonder, has this information ever been written down anywhere else, like in a color separation tutorial or something? I've mentioned it a few times in non-color separation help topics but nowhere in a tutorial or anything.
