  • His alternate Shouryuken cannot be cancelled once he's up in the air. Since it does exactly as much damage, why would the player use it over a normal Shouryuken which can be cancelled at any time? What's the purpose of this move?!?!

I agree, and found an even stronger level 1 super:

But isn't close to 500 damage points still too much, even if you make it into a level 2 super?

I was looking forward to this release. He does have a few things to work out for sure, but I think he's pretty good for a Beta. I asked this over at MI, but I'll ask here as well. I'm trying to figure out how to change his stance, since he apparently has 3 to choose from. I'm not really familiar with how to do this, so any help would be appreciated. :)

Edit: I may have answered my own question when I browsed through this topic and the W.I.P. one. I'm assuming that this Beta release only has the 1st stance implemented. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

ok played him a lil he is over all not bad hoping for a lil more but its only a beta and i understand that his AI is not to bad i dont really have nothin to bad to say because he is a Beta and most things are covered....and i couldnt find his other stances if there there i dont think they are lol but over all good work cant wait to seen a updated version or the finished product keep it up  :-\

- Why in hell did you define a new command for your new "especial" with 2xQCF+K whereas this command already existed ? Plus, you defined it without implementing negative edge.
- No negative edge for F,B,F+x nor F,B,F+a nor F,B,F+z.
- Big portrait is misaligned by one pixel.
- Stance doesn't share the same shading style as the rest of the sprites (shading is clearer).
- During stance, Gouki's hands move whereas the flames don't. It looks lame.
- Where is my real readme with a real movelist ?
- Lower the volume of the sound please.
- Small portrait has some weird colors.
- F,B,F+z lacks some effects on the ground.
- CLSN on stance is wrong and shouldn't be moving along with the animation. Quit using FF's automated tool.
- CLSN on F,B,F+z is the same as the walk one. WTF ?!
- Nice infinite priority on F,B,F+a and F,B,F+x.
- Why does F,B,F+x use the parry sound when blocked ?
- Purple effects during Misogi look completely fucked up.
- The kanji appearing on Gouki's portrait during Misogi is inverted if performed as player 2.
- Same goes for the same kanji during Shun Goku Satsu.
- I can't perform the taunt when I'm crouching.
- HCF+2p in air slows down my computer (and no, I don't have a slow computer. I rather have a very powerful one).
- Gouki shouldn't be saying anything during his "God Move" (2QCF+k).
- God Move's background is horrible. It suffers from massive color loss.
- If the opponent is jumping when Gouki performs his God Move, the lightning falling on him has its Y position which is set to the opponent's Y axis. It looks strange having a lightning not falling on the ground. Instead of using a postype=p2, I'd rather use a postype=p1 and pos=p2dist x,0 (or change 0 by pos Y, since Gouki goes in the air during this move, although I haven't checked if you made his pos Y change as well).

In all honesty, I can't say this is a bad character, since it's mostly based (not to say "entirely based") on my favorite character. Since you've mostly added some comboability and changed some damage, you haven't totally broken the character, so he still plays like POTS' version, hence he plays well.
I don't really like all these purple effects (some of them having broken colors), but it's a good thing you haven't abused them SO much.

In fact, all I can see there is Shin Gouki with edited effects, some more comboability (changing some triggers) and very few new moves. I know POTS' code isn't the easiest to learn from, but I really can't see what took you so long to release an edit like this one. Anyway, good luck for the rest.

1- the god special - it will be of 2 bars..
2- portrait fixed ^^
3- true about the stance i didn't fix that yet
4- misogi effects . it supposed to be that way
5- why u want taunt crouched?? lol
6- damn about slowmotion.... in my pc doesn't happen ,i will fix that
7- akuma say something in his god move, but whatever i will add something
8- yeah color in his god move, i already fix that

and why it taked so long ^^

It looks good but i have an idea:

Use nude torso at all the sprite and on the back insert orochi symbol  and when he finished shun goku satsu or win pose use light effect on symbol...

- on shun goku satsu use electric sparks effect (Like androide's god rugal, when at the shun goku satsu shows omega skulls)
- add a powerful hadouken like Pots Evil Ryu
- Change gouki sprite when he made orochi light super (i don't remember the name!  :P)
- add a faster ashura senkuu with dissolving effect like violent ken

am having a problem with his drain evergy move... everytime i grab a char from my roster 80% of the time he freezes in mid air and no drain occurs.... then he cant move for like 10 secs untill the battle can continue!!!

wheres a move list for god akuma, i think u should make one if one doesnt allrdy excist.

i didnt think most of his moves where powerfull enough... i put him against regular pots shin akuma and to be honest pots shin akuma totally kicked his ass without breaking a sweat, considering this is meant to be stronger char i upped his health and powers until a decent ai that can beat pots shin akuma is created.
