  • No meaning to me, just an empty box.
They need to bring back assets missions and improve the garage system. I still don't understand how they could make garages worse than the previous games, they already sucked.

Making the best GTA would be dead easy, honestly. You don't even need new locations. I wrote this 5 minutes ago:

You play through all the locations of all the GTAs relesed so far, in chronological order. And during your gameplay you meet all the main characters of all the GTA games and interact with them somehow, without messing up the series canon.

You see how your character grows up and evolves during the years and can either become the mafia boss, or a corrupt cop or even the president of USA or something like that. The choice is yours.

You will be able to see how all the cities and places of GTA1 and 2 would look like in High Def 3D graphics!!!

DLC: On certain missions where you interact with the known chars you can change the future! (Like killing them before they were supposed to die). This will affect GTA IV aswell! :o

Im still waiting for a sandbox game that lets you go inside every building and every room in the game.

In this game you can... but there's nothing in most of the buildings

Strengthening long-standing rumors for years that the next Grand Theft Auto would be set in Los Angeles or a fictional version thereof, a source familiar with the game told Kotaku today that those rumors are true. GTA V will be set in some version of L.A., bringing the famous franchise to a place that last got the GTA treatment in the series' top-selling Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

That game is far too silly to steal the audience of GTA fans, it's not the same as Saint's Row 1 or 2 in how it was a GTA game with added twists you always wanted. Like character creation and cool online play.

everything before gta4 was great. But the only way this game can even compare is if they add alot of unrealistic things and make references to previous gta games and if the rumor is true about the game taking place in los santos, then it needs to be a damn sequel to san andreas. That would make it comparable to saints row.

Okay. Unrealistic things don't equate to a good realistic sandbox game (Of course.), and they don't need to make any references to any other GTA game, perhaps improving on some older GTA elements that were abandoned before. Nostalgia =/= Good game, and then you look at Liberty City and it's changes you can say that it's not a requirement at all for it to be anything like it's older incarnation.

What the game probably needs is just a new graphics engine, better mission design, an innovative or even full cooperative multiplayer, gangs, a long well-written plot and RPG elements that improve on San Andreas'. Like going to the gym makes you buffer, eating too much makes you fatter, clothes improve sex appeal, the like, but then going above and beyond expectations. Which is how you make a good, wholesome game.

everyone that prefers gta over saints row
That game is far too silly to steal the audience of GTA fans
hahahahahaha what

The video starts with the main character doing leap frogs over people, doing wrestling moves on the civilians of the city, hitting/shooting them in the balls, hitting them with dildos, using oversized fists to make people explode, dancing stupidly with prostitutes, blowing gangs up with overpowered missiles, dressing up as a space man, and going on a rampage with space jets, kitty trucks and tanks.

The GTA audience doesn't particularly look for this kind of silliness. While it looks fun, it's not going to just steal the GTA fanbase. It'll be outsold.

The only thing I liked from GTA IV was its physics, which allowed you to do crazy hilarious stuff. I'm sure some of you have seen videos about this.

Personally, I'm half expecting this game and half hesitating because of the previous one. The thing about them using L.A. means nothing to me. I want it to be a good game, then I will worry about the place they use this time. I will obviously wait for some people to tell me if I can trust the GTA franchise or not again when the game is released.

Hello, Mr. My First GTA Was 3.
The fuck does that have to do anything? My first GTA was 3 as well and even then I can recognize how it's a bit closer to Saints Row in terms of craziness than say, GTA4. In fact, GTA3's my favorite FOR that reason, gore cheat is fucking awesome, and dicking around was just... so much fun. I want more than anything else to have that craziness back, to have Lazlow be FUNNY again. There was hardly anything in GTA4 that made me laugh, but dear god, the dialogue in GTA3, Liberty City Stories and San Andreas, those are just genius. They show they can be serious AND funny, sometimes at the same time.

With that in mind, they need to get rid of the TV shit and just focus more on the radio scripts, because that's where I'll be playing most of the fucking game. I don't pop in a game to watch the virtual television, that's just stupid.

And that's all fine and dandy. It's okay to appeal to both audiences, because that's what GTA does, considering that pretty much every game can please both people who love serious sandboxes, as well as being wacky, but controlled wackiness. Saint's Row 3 is just ditching that serious aspect in favor of overexaggerated fantasy fun. GTA won't do that, but that's part of why so many people like it. Don't give a damn if you can't fly around with a Mickey Mouse suit on blowing up the city and fucking big tit prostitutes, it might be fun, but it's not the kind of fun those kind of people are looking for.

San andreas already had most of that and it was dumb, nobody cared about it because it would deteriorate as you progressed(lol realistic). Saints row already lets you adjust the characters structure at any time of the game, and they stay that way till you change it.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

For one, it only deteriorated if you didn't do said action for extended periods of time, which does happen in real life. It's not like you work out in real life and get big then stay that way your whole life.  :-\ Secondly,

What the game probably needs is just a new graphics engine, better mission design, an innovative or even full cooperative multiplayer, gangs, a long well-written plot and RPG elements that improve on San Andreas'.

Lastly, alot of people liked it because it was a good way to open up other aspects of the game, like it's melee system when it came to the gym, because you could do some fighting at the gym and do good melee attacking. If you upped your firearms skill, you could dual-wield, stuff like that is nice, because it mixes it up and makes it feel like you are actually making progress.

How about those 3.6 million people who bought GTA IV on it's very first day? How about the 6.8 million who bought it by the end of that year?

Sonuva... well I might give the complete addition a shot since never played the dlc.

I want to see how V looks first before...anything. I had no problem with IV,it was fun. There just wasn't much to do outside of the core missions and the story, while I thought it wasn't bad, never really helped me feel like was more than a lowly thug doing someone's dirty work all the time. And those rubber band car chases really blew...I hope they keep those to minimum.

Why would someone constantly workout in a video game thats not wii fit, you might aswell just play wii fit. I get that you would want to keep your character fit or in shape but that deludes the purpose of playing a grand theft auto game. I had already said that this game could only compete with saints row if it were a sequel to san andreas.

3.6 in one day to 6.8 by the end of the year, that should tell you something right there. Since when does sales mean fanbase. Your ratio already proves that people slowly stopped buying the game.

You say saints row is silly and not realistic, if you want realism and dont want to get caught doing bad things in rl then be a fucking ninja

So that they can progress in the game, make it seem like they are more than the wimp they was before at the beginning of the game. Plus that's not even the best feature of that part of the system that I mentioned. Deluding the purpose? Whatever.

It means that everyone who was gonna buy the game had already bought the game. 3.6 million is already alot of people.

If I want realism and don't want to get caught doing bad things then I can just play Grand Theft Auto. Shit, that's what it's for. I don't need some ridiculous dildo bat and a bunny suit to have fun. Keep that shit out of my Grand Theft Auto, and you can just play Saints Row if you want it so badly.

San Andreas had a dildo. And you found that dildo in a police station. Very serious and realistic game!!

In terms of "realism", the existing Saints Row games are not that much different from the GTA games. Who are you to say the demographic for these games aren't the exact same people. You've been lending a lot of "insight" to threads when you have very little business doing so.

It has to do with GTA1 and 2, despite being 2D games, being even more batshit insane than GTA3 ever was.  Saints Row 3 doesn't need to steal any more of GTA's fanbase because SR and SR2 already have stolen its fanbase.  GTA has its new super serious market, while generally people that started with the sillier 2D games have migrated over.

The game still went on to outsell SA. I still don't see where this argument is going. Why can't two games which do slighty comparable things exist in the same market? Why does it have to be the sequel to SA to beat SR3?But none of that matters. Why can't it just be a good game?

Haw. Except this isn't the main draw of the game which is the case with Saints Row 3, which only got crazier and crazier with it's plot to the point where now things like this is what's mainly being advertised about the game.

In terms of "realism", the existing Saints Row games are not that much different from the GTA games. Who are you to say the demographic for these games aren't the exact same people. You've been lending a lot of "insight" to threads when you have very little business doing so.

The new Saints Row game isn't quite the same in that it's gotten to the point where silly and wacky antics are the selling point of the game, instead of an excellent plot and immersive atmosphere. And I have every right to share my insight in topics on this forum because I've registered here and opinions make the world go round. In CvTW's case, it's my job.

So they can just go back to playing Saints Row and let this new group buy more Grand Theft Auto games.

Defeated again!  :(

Because even if it's good people will scold it for not being realistic and not letting them have this:
