UPDATE 2:

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. If this doesn't ring a bell I'll give you a hint. Dr. Baldhead's background has been released.

That makes another Perfect Stage pack for my collection with all backgrounds from the game converted to Mugen

UPDATE 1: Released Zato's and Ky's backgrounds.

There is some inaccuracy regarding the lightnings in Ky Kiske's stage. The original game uses a random function for frequency and placement, so it's impossible to replicate with Mugen. However, a workaround to simulate pseudo-randomness has been implemented.
By the way, I really hate this lightnings... obtaining accurate timings and transparency values was a pain in the ass.

On a side note, there are "latency" problems with my site, as some parts of the site are displayed from a "cache" whereas others are displayed correctly. Links are fully working so you won't have problems downloading these backgrounds

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
About 12 years ago I did some stages from an awesome PSX game called "Guilty Gear". My ripping techniques and mugen knowledge weren't as good as nowadays and by today's standard, those stages sucked.

Time passed and I had all the stages completely ripped and only it was needed to compile the SFF and generate the DEF file. Apparently there's "new" mugen 1.0 out there and I thought, it could be a good learning process to redo all these old backgrounds and release them to 1.0 standards. And so I did.

Apparently, all these stages were also made by Bad Darkness, but last time I checked his backgrounds were ripped with a wrong resolution, as he used 320x240, whereas the original game runs at 320x224. The result is that Bad Darkness' stages have their sprites with some vertical distortion. I believe Bad Darkness' site is down, so most probably I will be the only source providing these backgrounds.

Before my friend Caddie steals the show with his soon-to-be-released SFA3 perfect stage pack  ;), I am proud to announce 10 stages from probably my favorite game on the PS One.

There are 3 stages missing, but I will release them soon, whenever I feel like doing it.

Last but not least, these stages are intended to run at 4:3 resolutions, so using it on 16:9 or other weird coordinates will produce weird consequences.

Where's the DL link ?
Unless the links in your website point to the updated versions (even though the news are not updated, and it says "DL for Mugen 04.14".
And update your website man. :P

definitely there's something wrong with my site... I've sent a message to DeleteBR to check the issue, because the site is displaying a cache instead of using the actual files from the server :(

Anyways, and for the time being until the issue is fixed, here are the direct links:

EDIT: removed direct links. Files can be downloaded from the website

These look tight, my dude! I've been wanting these stages for a long time. Are they open source?

Do your best to become stronger. Become stronger, so you can do your best.

Mugen is a way for me to remain nostalgic with all of the dream matches I cooked up as a kid. It's also what I call a "Digital Action Figure Collection."

So this are not compatible with winmugen or winmugen plus?

No, these are SFFv2 files, so Winmugen will not open them. If there's too much demand I may reupload a SFFv1 version of these stages... but I don't see the point in sticking in a buggy and outdated version.

Mugen 1.0 was released in 2009. We're in 2012. I see no reason why people has not moved yet to the new environment. Specially, if we keep in mind that 99% of winmugen creations could be easily ported to 1.0 with just a few parameters' changes.

Damn, it was even worst in the past when there was the conflict between 0101 and 0627 mugen version. At that time converting from one version to another was too much of a hurdle, and yet people moved faster than nowadays.

These look tight, my dude! I've been wanting these stages for a long time. Are they open source?

As with all my creations, they are not open source and they can't be hosted elsewhere or redistributed. However, I'm open to discussion in case you want to use them in your projects. Just talk to me. For example, Black Dahlia Isis asked me for permission to use one of them and he did an excellent job with an enhanced version of Ky Kiske's.

But if your project is just adding an additional sprite or just putting it into a full game made entirely of open source material, then don't bother asking me.

Its not bad that in only works for 1.0 but since this were stages that disapeared I thought they were for both versions, is not a bad idea to have the best of both worlds... just sayin, anyways does anyone knows what happened to wild type versions of this stages?

Thanks for the compilaiton release XG. These stages are a permanent addition to my massive collection. It's great to have them all at once!!  :sugoi:
All of your Mugen Portrait needs may be found HERE.

I'd like to report two robots on the MFG forums: One is EXShadow. The other is Saikoro.
There should be a Saikoro plugin for Photoshop.
